I don't really know my graphics cards at all, all I know is the companies and they have numbers. I'm guessing the higher the number the better, but I don't want to make a mistake.

I'm looking for a graphics card between $100-$200 that's better than the ATI Radeon x1300 I have. PCIe slot is what I'm looking for.

If you could hold off for about a month or so, the new cards from ATI will come out, and your buck will go a lot further.

Yeah...it's wrong on the Nvidia part. Mostly the (X)600 GT from Nvidia are worse than the (X-1)8800 GTS/GTX but they feature the new technology like DX10or whatever. I might add that the 8600GT is an excellent overclocker ;P

Ach, Patrick!
Wie gehts, unt gesundheit.

Haven't talked to you in a while. I was looking at the 8800gt, but I'm not sure.

that's out of his price range. 8800GT and 9600GT are similar speed wise, with 8800gt like 5% faster.

Well with only a X1300 PRO will he other PC hardware handle a upgrade, especially the PSU?

I definitely recommend the nVidia GeForce 9600GT. Similar performance to the HD 3870 and beats it in some places. It's more or less the same price now as the HD3870 so you're good.
