3ds max 8 error

when i want to open up my 3ds max 8 it gives me the following error

the application failed to initialize properly (oxc0000005). click on OK to terminate the application

i have reinstalled 3ds max but still it gives me teh same error

i have searched for it on the web with google but nothing came up that helped

Are you running the appropriate services for 3ds max? Such as the registration one, or is that just max 9 that implemented it.
