Battlefield 2142

Anyone still play this? I picked up a copy of Northern Strike a bit ago and started ranking up. Picked up my 2nd Lt. Silver this morning and it put me at one more unlock until I have Recon, Assault, and Support unlocked (minus the NS unlocks of course). Should be able to get the 2nd Lt. Gold by tomorrow.

When NS came out I was like f- and stopped playing. Is a fun game.

Out of everything in Northern Strike, there's only one good map and it's for assault lines. There is no other way to describe it other than epic. The rest of the stuff isn't impressive at all.

I just picked up three silver badges in one round. Was one knife kill away from a fourth :(. Anyways, patch 1.5 is now out. Evidently they've finally added widescreen support and some new maps.

1.5 update (beta) came out. Gotta say, I'm loving Wake Island 2142. Makes me happy, not to mention the guitar version of the Battlefield theme on the loading screen. I've always loved 2142, and had looked forward to it since it first was announced. I'll admit, it's not a perfect game, but it's a fun game to play all the same.

Edit: So, after reading this post, I went to go play, seems the final release of 1.5 is out. w00t.

I love that Wake Island was ported, but the gametype doesn't match the map. Dont get me wrong, Conquest Assault is absolutely amazing, but it's absolutely horrid with Wake Island. The other map is just amazing though. I dont like how the viewing range is scaled down a lot because of all the extra detail, but <3.

I agree. It's just fun to have an almost... dare I say... a classic, remade. Though, having Titans instead of huge carriers kinda throws it off. Not to mention that I think piloting the gunships and transport ships are a lot easier than the jets and helicopters in the previous games. So in that sense you're right, it does change the game play a bit. Still, fun stuff.

i have Battle field 2142, got it last summer, i never really got a chance to play it because when i got it i had my sucky laptop, ill probably install it in a few weeks.

Hey all, I just picked up this game today at a half-price book store, unfortunately I can't play it as my cd key "has already been registered to another account" is there any way I can fix this?

I don't think you can play online even if you do. Is this game still worth getting? I'm sick of future Sci-fi games.

It's not really a future sci-fi game. Everything is realistic and is definitely something we could make in a hundred years. Well, maybe not a Titan or levitating vehicles, but every weapon is still ballistic. If you like any of the battlefield style games, you'll love 2142.

I have 2142, barely play it, IMO BF2 was better, at least more appealing to the eye, in general, 2142 is blue/gray/white, with a few green/dusty maps.
