There are fireworks, but we Canadians don't take it as seriously as the Americans celebrate the 4th of July (not that it's a bad thing for the latter, national pride is always good). Still, people are partying all over the country.

There are actually some fireworks very near my house, probably some neighbors, since I can hear them (the fireworks) quite easily.

I approve this Holiday. I celebrated by having my parents yell at me to do chores, even though I TOLD them it was a Holiday :(.
