Too many genres to make a poll, but what is your favorite Genre of music or what songs do you like most but post their genre's not the songs.

Rules:

No stereo-typing people for their type of music genre.
Don't argue about one genre being better than another, please.
You can state what you like about your genre, but don't refer it as the best.
You can have more than one genre, but try to make it a maximum of atleast 3.
Mine: Reggae and Blues

- Reggae [Generic music and generic lyrics, low quality 70's stuff and crappyly synthezized 80 shit [UB40 makes me want to puke] are the subcategories i hate though]
- Dub [same expections as reagge although i tend to prefer modern styles mixed with some trance and electro elements. i would prefer mediocre dubs over mediocre reggae though]
- Some Ska Stuff [Most Ska bands suck ass though]

There's rap like that? :confused2:

I listen to a good mix of music, but my 3 current favorite genres are Melodic Metal (ex: Dragonforce; Lacuna Coil; In Flames); NĂ¼-Metal (ex: Slipknot; Static-X; Mushroomhead); Industrial/Alternative (ex: Ghost Machine; Halflife 2 Soundtrack; ZhayTee/Vir Heroicus) I also listen to a good bit of about everything: Paul Simon, Gorillaz, Chevelle, Pink Floyd, Quarashi, 311, Sevendust, Puscifer, Linkin Park, Korn, Steve Miller Band, Godsmack - hell, a whole good mix of anything that has at least a bit of groove to it.

Ska, Metal and quite of a few of its glorious subgenres, used to listen to a lot of punk but not so much anymore. Good rap, none of that garbage rapping Lil Wayne puts out.
Oh, and Jackie Chan.

Rock, especially alternative rock. Funk rock is also really good.(Red Hot Chili Peppers biatch) Classic rock, rap that's not about worthless bullshit, basically anything that sounds good. For example, Foo Fighters, Metallica, The Bravery, Linkin Park, Chili Peppers, Muse, Hoobastank.

I like a lot of stuff, Rock (most kinds), Metal (though not stuff where they just scream, or growl), Jazz, Blues, Punk, Classic isn't all that bad either. I like the musical music, the stuff with instruments, not just a guy talking/rapping with a beat (aka rap, hip hop, etc...). Music that has meaning to it. No offense intended to those that do like rap and hip hop.
