Basically, whenever someone multi posts (double triple, etc), they automatically get merged with eachother, seamlessly, to prevent multiple posting, and other annoying things.

Wouldn't that take alot of work?

If its possible then I am all for it. Have it formatted like with the time next to it or something because this might happen:

Hey guys I was just popping in to say that I love this map. I think its incredibly rad. It makes me cream like a little girl. On second thought I hate this map. It gave me aids and raped my mother and father.

And with folks that type like this:

O hi i just wantd too say taht this is teh koolest map evar i love it and I always play it it is the best

Blending two of those posts with no notification might be a bit confusing.

And also, it would have to be able to recognise not to blend two posts which had a post between them and got deleted. Because it might look like this:

Well does anyone have any ideas?

Thats a horrible idea

Just my thoughts on the situation.

Sometimes multiple posts can be good, if you are responding to multiple people, etc.

Bumping your own topic for an update would be useless. I think it's a pointless suggestion.

We already have it, as you can see.You just have to do it manually, since too many can widen the page.

all the mods ive seen that do this, only merge double posts within a time period that is configurable in the acp.

I thought everyone was just too unpopular to have them yet >_>

E: @Heathen, I've seen golds on several other VB forums.

needs a 10 minute Timer on it.

where you can double post, but after an extended period.
I've seen it done on other forums, it works alright. You cna still double post, but you cant Spam double post

This is what happens on another forum im on when you double post:
http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/5161/doublevb6.png

It merges the posts, and then adds the "'User' added 'X' minutes and 'Y' seconds later..." message between the two merged posts.

But does it bump the topic? Because if it doesn't, it's kinda irritating for people who update their threads (my photography thread is an example of this, since you guys don't comment in it much :phonegonk:)

Maybe It would be an option to choose.

If you double post within the set time it doesn't bump. Like you could have it set where if you double post within 1 hour it merges, but if its later than 1 hour it bumps.

Double and triple posting isn't even a big enough problem to bother polar with implementing this. It's seriously just pointless.

Perhaps, but it's a neat feature to have.
