I really want this, since the older GTA games had a lot of mods. Can't wait to see this released, hopefully.

Now I want my 6+ Dvd set of MGS4 for PC.

(Though a steam download would be nice :3)

All GTA titles have always come to the PC, but you have to wait at least a year after the console release.

I suspect that they delay the PC release to maximize profits. It's a known fact that PC games are 1000x easier to pirate than console games, since consoles require all kinds of warranty-voiding mods to even read the pirated software in the first place (and those mods can shit up the console or get one banned from online service). It's the sad truth, but games released for multiple platforms tend to sell better on consoles than on the PC, simply because of the piracy issue.

A year's wait should give Rockstar enough profit from the console versions of GTA4, in which case they can release the PC version without having to worry about piracy hurting profits.

I'd say that with the new *official* multiplayer features, modding might be even more popular. :)

GTA Chinatown Wars will be out before GTA 4 pc, but nuthertheless for PC it will be great. I've got in on xbox (bloody disk scratched though) and I bet it will need quite a powerful pc.

Although I own both a 360 and a PS3, I'll wait for the PC version of GTA4 like many other users here, for two reasons:

1. mouse/keyboard ftw
2. Nothing beats downloading real-life cars and inserting them into the game engine. I did it with GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas. Since I know I can't have my own BMW 7-series right now, and even if I can I wouldn't bring it to a Hollywood chase/shootout, I use GTA to satisfy such fantasies.

I want them to learn the term compression (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=data%20compression).

Heard about this; can't wait. I hope they leave it open and don't lock it down like San Andreas v2, though.

Knowing their modding community, the GTA guys will find a way to brute force things, they always do. :p

I wouldn't get this game for modding; no one took San Andreas seriously, same goes for this (I'm looking at you, guys).

Completely agreed there. Hope the new engine will be able to add new vehicles without having to replace the cars in the game.

I don't know, the first thing I have got used to is the graphics. I'm not usually a stickler for that kind of thing but damn, they look like something from 1998. Can't wait to get this http://cdg.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=54334&sid=54525ee7cfae731cd3888fce79b2ac81 for GTAIV.

Modding in all the GTA games is complicated...replacing cars or guns etc....You gotta use image extractors and it's too complex.

Also I wonder how heavy the system specs will be.:eyesroll:

Probably the 3rd person camera. Those allways feel odd to me on the PC.

Mostly for me too, though it didn't bother me in a couple like Fable or Star Wars Battlefront.

They will make sure they lock it down pretty tight due to the whole law suit crap they have had in the past. They dont want people making it too realistic.

If it is possible to change cars, it will definitely be overwriting not adding.

The cameras in GTA III and Vice City were fine, the one in San Andreas was a bit too...voluptous.

I don't know what is going through Rockstar's minds. Their camera has been getting looser with every new Grand Theft Auto installment. The cameras in GTA III and Vice City were perfect. When I first played San Andreas, I was wondering what the hell was going through their minds. When I played GTA IV, it made the camera in San Andreas look tight. You can literally turn 180 degrees, start driving, and not be facing the way you are driving for another 2 or 3 seconds. I've found myself pressing the button to look behind every time I go into a tight turn just so the camera snaps back to its straight position fast enough to see where I am going.

Since the 6th generation of gaming, it seems the only goal of games is to be just like a movie, and I guess controls were sacrificed over time for that. With a slow camera comes great suspense, you know? It's like, "cameras slowly going that way... what could possibly be in front of me? It's so exciting!" /bullshit

It's a lot like motion blur. Probably one of the biggest wastes of a GPU/CPU, it was just made for effect. You know, in case moving the camera left and right didn't cause a natural blur for your eye, now you can have a bunch of distorted shit every time you so much as turn your character a single degree. It's just one of those things enthusiasts fanboys get all moist about.

One experiment I always wanted to do was put these developers on something like an NES/Atari, and see how crippled they are without their precious effects. My prediction would be that they'd still try and go for that "it's like a movie!" effect, and end up making a load of shit because they never learned to make good controls/gameplay, the one thing that makes any old game worth playing after 15 or so years, like GTA3/VC.

Meh, it was pretty much confirmed. But at least I can breath easy from suspense now. I'm now concerned how well the game will run, considering almost all open ended games were demanding and coincidentally horribly optimized(STALKERS, Oblivion, crysis) when they were released.

Also, too bad there is no cross-platform multiplayer.

You gotta admit, aiming in San Andreas was improved greatly and I just LOVED the whole Los Angeles setting considering I live there and it was very similar to real life L.A. except the driving distances between cities and counties was drastically cut in half.

That would be the most epic video game in the fucking world. But it's definitely unlikely unless they replace your own house with a random building.

That was fast, props to Rockstar. Hopefully they will stick to this release date lol.

Bit annoyed its being released 3 days later in Europe, why not the same day? We created most of the game.

My pc will be too crap for it so meh.
