View Full Version : 3ds Max lighting issues

So, I've got some light set up in a scene, but i found that every light I create past the first few I made only casts its light in renders, so I have to render to get an idea of what it'll look like. It looks like there's a limit on how many you can have show light in a scene before rendering. Is there any setting I might be missing, or a way to increase the limit? They're all set to "on", so that's not the problem.

How many do you have? If there omni lights make sure they have a strength level.

No, that's not it, everything's fine if I do a render, the light just isn't showing up when I'm navigating the viewport, and it's annoying when I'm trying to work in areas that are pitch black because the lights I've placed aren't emitting anything unless I render :|

Thats odd. I'm not sure. I will look around though to see if I can find out whats causing it.
