This one's (http://technology.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/tech_and_web/article4557935.ece) a form of mocap that captures subtle muscle movements to enhance the realism of the animation. The girl in the video is 100% computer generated.

The eyes man.... they look so... 'hazed'

Yeah, the eyes kinda broke it for me, but otherwise, it was very, very nice.

Why's everyone always on about the eyes? I see nothing wrong with 'em >_>

I'm assuming it's not rendered in real time.

I didn't read the web page, just watched the video.

Eyes dont look too bad, its probably because they dont diolate and look the correct colour. I think when they get that down they will look good.

This is quite impressive, and could be mistaken for being real at a quick glance. So many advancements in this lately...

Only two problems: the eyes look horizontally stretched (by a factor of whatever) and the lips also look like they have that problem. It kinda reminds me of Natalie Portman.

The lips ruined it for me.

Pretty cool stuff nonetheless.

Lmfao, yet again the eyes are dead. I am yet to see cg OTHER than Pixar that does eyes well.

Dreamworks did well with the eyes in Shrek 2 + 3.

I just do not see it at all, Dane >_>

Well, the eye's don't look very good because you can't exactly motion track eye balls on a real actor can you? If the entire thing was digitally animated (not motion tracked) then the eyes shouldn't be a problem.

^ bingo. Motion cap won't work. Look at the eyes exam. They move like the eyes of a fish.

See, the problem with CG animations to me, 99 percent of the time, the face smiles, but the eyes don't

Eh, doesn't really make much of a difference to me, it still looks incredibly lifelike.

I think that if Dane hadn't said anything, you sheep wouldn't be picking on the eyes.

But the face doesn't rinkle at all. If I saw that woman in real life I would think she looked goofy.

No, I actually think that current-gen games are ok. It doesn't bother me at all. However, this strikes me as the uncanny valley, where it gets so realistic, that every little flaw becomes really noticeable. They look really oddly shaped and narrow to me.

Eyes convey so much emotion, its insane.

They nailed the look-up-and-to-the-left "Yeah... no." look, though.
