To start off Too Human is an RPG Game based on Viking / Norse times brought into a futuristic state of clusterfuck between cybernetics and 'For Valhalla!!' brutes. The game starts off with you, Baldir, some guy with a shaved head and not much look to him other than the pre-attached cybernetic wiring in your head. Depending on what class you choose his looks differ, slightly. There's not really much of an option seeing as every class is for the most part the same. The only useful class is the Champion, unless you have an Xbox Live buddy to play it with.. in my case I didn't.
Gameplay: Combat system could be better with more ways of killing your foes, such as special combinations of button mashing, but it's original so I'll leave it at that. The enemy AI aren't much, they're basic and just run at you with the only intent of killing you. Dying in this game yields no consequences whatsoever. Merely respawning 50 yards away from the point of death. Death is a 'Valkryie' or Angel sloooooowwwwllllyyyy carrying you up, which is just a means of the sick developers pissing all over you. Friendly AI don't do anything, they may shoot at some leaves and imaginary cans, barely even scratching the enemy. So friendly AI are as useful as having a giant banana follow you around. The idea of being able to jump is quickly brought to cancel itself out without being able to jump over tiny obstacles, onto or off ledges and not being able to jump off the level and die. What's the point of being to jump or roll if it's completely useless other than 'air combat'.
Storyline: Doesn't have much to it. Just that your wife died, your angry all the time, and you'll never catch on to half the shit that was going on or why it was. The game fails to explain anything. Eventually it hints at you in an angry manner as if you were supposed to be a genius fuck and make a guess about everything that happens. There's not much to say about the story other than it doesn't have much of an impact in the game, it's just a way of transitions between different environments for you to fuck everything up in.
Design: Looks and feels very nice in some parts. The game is just a clusterfuck of bad and good designs, more indecisive than anything you'll ever see. The animations are only good during combat scenes, or atleast they appear it as everything happens in a flash of explosions. Cinematics and other animations are pretty much shit. Voice acting is suprisingly good, the animations and expressions on the characters faces are not. I don't know what the designers had in mind with this type of design, but it sure isn't pleasing to the eyes. Graphics aren't everything but animations and gameplay are.
Design: 8.5
Gameplay: 6.0
Story: 3.0
To sum it all up the game's OK but not the best it could've been. Having seen it rated T made me quickly realize it wasn't going to be good. Overall the game is not worth the $59.95 USD, unless you have some odd fetish for shitty games or you're just the rich bastard that buys everything he doesn't already have.
