Roof Modeling

I was Modeling a map and on one base i was able to make a roof but on the other the cap wont work it only re-creates the border and doesnt make a roof.

anyone know any other ideas to make a roof? it worked fine on the other base. :|

shift+drag mouse to extrude edges. then target weld the verts on the extruded edges to the base

You'd better watch some modelling tutorials. I suggest H Guru's to start with But There's some process in there that you will have to ''un learn'' on the short term.

Look on halomaps in the tutorials for H Guru's Making a map tutorial.

Also, instead of asking which polygons to move when we clearly have no clue what the map looks like, look up the term, "independent thought". You don't ask somebody how to make your map.

i know how to make a map and stuff and i tryed what all of you had sad and it did'nt work....

and im not asking you guys how to make a map....
i've also watched H gurus map tutorial.... but all i need is a roof for my second base and then i texture and im done.... (with the model part)

just for some reason it wont let me make a roof :|

Wow way not to help. You need to delete those top faces, as it wont let you create faces over other ones.

You really need to learn to make a map without taking a tessellated plane and extruding and moving some faces. You have a horrible waste of polygons there, and it's not worth it to clean that up at the end. You should start with only what you need, and work with that. Watch/read some tutorials, as you obviously don't know how to model a map yet. You need to learn more basic skills and stay away from poor methods like you're using now. When you're making surfaces, create it using only polygons necessary to making the shape you need. Anything else is purposeless. My advice is to go through some basic modeling tutorials.

Okay look I deleted the faces on top and then went to border then right click and cap

And it didn't work

because you kept the top row of polygons on the inside :|

if you don't know what you're doing, stop, and get tutorials. as in right now.

Select these faces and delete them

Select the interior border and hit cap

And move one of the faces up some so the two are not overlapping.
