I spent about 7 hours working on this but I'm finally done :D . I want to make a map like the pillar of autumn space but with another ship so I modeled a similar one which is about the same size and length of the poa , and also later on interior such as a bridge probably a10's armory or i might make me one, halls and a small hanger..mabey if it works well. The hardest part I have to say is probably is going to be the texturing :\ . Post ur crits , tips , and opinions plz.

make an interior
like a full on to the halo universe scale 'interior'
and just have the whole ship in space as the map.

If you don't leave the ship, what's the point of having a modelled exterior?
Looks nice, but then I'm certainly no expert on the matter.

Looks nice, but then I'm certainly no expert on the matter.
outside dogfights?..banshee's, hornets, whatever. and SP cutscenes
I personally don't like the chamfering on all of the cylinders.
wtf... chamfer is a required tool for that effect, just needs smoothing.
oh and personally i think it needs more ariels ad antenna's with blooping lgihts but i guess you can add the lights in sapien.

have hangars allowing you to go into space
have animated skybox of stars slowly moving

Yea just do kinda like coldsnap does. Have a full on interior with spots where you can use vehicle teleportation to get out of the ship. Then have a huge open skybox for fights.

Good idea but I dont want the map to be laggy when theres only like 6 to 8 ppl or more due to so much geometry I put in the model

Open dogfights are lame. Personally I think it would be cool to have asteroids and debris just floating out in space to actually give some cover.
Also, make sure that its possible to transport units easily to the other base with pelicans or something for gunfights and such inside ships. That would help make the level more appealing to people who aren't coldsnap fags.
Don't include guns designed for killing vehicles. Leave space fights to the vehicles. One of the least enjoyable parts of coldsnap was being sniped non stop by a sniper you will never find. Leave the firearms as the default, or a full custom set.
My last suggestion would be turrets that have the gunners seat down inside the ship, in tubes or something, then the tube with the gunner gets pulled up into the gun. (If you get what I mean, it might not be understandable in words)

Just use space flight to get from hangar a to hangar b as a second option as opposed to walking through the halls or something' Looks cool btw

Looks a bit boxy too me, also if it was scaled down like some big bad ass gun.

Cut the space flights, and make it where there is asteroids around the ship. Then make it where teleporters in the ship teleport you to some of these asteroids to also fight there. This would add an exciting twist, like maybe if you want to go to the opposing flag the quick way you need to go on the asteroid (with the threat of snipers), but if you want to take a little longer you can go through the inside of the ship.

He has a point there, but I think that fighting inside an asteroid station that each team has a teleport to one side of, and fighting your way across would be pretty intense.

Looks a bit boxy and I think it would look better were it a little longer overall. The front looks weird to me, especially where the errr.... driver seat... goes.

Needs smoothing in some areas, like at the top of the rounded cylinders. Other than that, it looks pretty good.

Also keep in mind to put in plenty of detail as well. That alone is very important with huge structures. Just look at the work on In Amber Clad or Forward Onto Dawn.

Yeah , I also looked at the In amber clad and the marathon class cruisers and boy that took time. Thanks , any structure I make i test out ingame so I would know they work :D

I find it looks a little too much like the Pillar of Autumn. If you look at the different classes of UNSC ships, they are all very different, yet human. But all that aside, it's very good. The top of the front part looks too flat though, maybe fix it up a bit.

Well, it is more overly the same design as the more detailed Forward Onto Dawn. I just wanted to point out a more basic and designed ship.
