View Full Version : Trouble texturing the sky in 3ds max 8

Is there a certain way I have to do it? I try to do it like you would texture a map, but my textures won't show up.

To apply a sky material all you do is make a +sky material in your MatEditor, and apply it to the faces.

No, I mean, I'm making a custom sky.

Here's how I would do it.


1. Start with a sphere, flip normals, delete lower hemisphere
2. Use a Spherical Uvmap
3. Render out said UV Map
4. Find some pictures and stitch them together, and then apply them to the said map
5. Profit!?

(Add some extra planes and such and apply clouds to them, then animate it too.)
