:\
From what I've seen they've all been negative. Evidently the visual effects are great, but it has a higher action:plot ratio than Iron Man. Has anyone seen it yet? I was wanting to go see it on the hopes it would be a greatly graphic driven story in an artistic sense that I could learn from. Did the parent studio just pay for action for actions sake (ala speed racer) or is this something that you learn by watching the entire scene and pick up a few things by spoken plot (ala Dark City)?
Also, please no spoilers outside of tags.

From the critic review I was reading, he was bitching about shit that was suppose to be done as is because it's based off the game and the game had fucking 'bullet-time', snow\rain 24/7, etc. While this critic was saying it wasn't a shitfest like that one director who likes to make movies of games (Ubo or w/e, starts with a U), he obviously never played the mother fucking game.
I want to see it too, but I'm not liking the shit talk from the usual :downs: movie crtics

Um, a huge amount of reviews said that there wasn't enough action in Iron Man. Or fighting, at least. Maybe I read what you were trying to say wrong.

I found Iron Man just perfect the way it was, amazing movie. Too much fighting isn't good, it would just get repetitive.

He didn't set a single hobo on fire, that's not the Max Payne I know.
Seriously, the movie was terrible just like the acting and the "action scenes( 2 or 3 tops?!) I was bored senseless if it wasn't for my friend fighting this guy in the theatre I would've fell to sleep.
There were also no painkillers. . .

Yeah, one thing that the people that make game movies don't get is that games don't make good movies, due to the fact that a game is very different from a movie in the way it tells a story. Games tend to have more action, and less dialogue, whereas movies have a lot more dialogue than pure action. Games also tend to last much longer than a movie, at least 10 hours compared to a movie's 2-3.
I don't know about any of you, but no matter how good a game is, I don't think that it should be made into a movie.

Consistencies:
-Max
-Mona
-Gognitti
-Roscoe Street Station
-Bravura
-Rambling, Muttering, Rocking, delusional hallucinating drug addicts
-The way the movie starts with him killing thugs, and eventually killing cops and working his way through minions, to a miniboss, to the boss.
-He was framed for a murder
-His family was killed the same way. Even the enactment from the beginning of the game was played out quite well all things considered. Same amount of thugs killed in the same way, just with a twist non game-canon.
-The lady who runs the company actually looks suprisingly similar to the endboss lady in the game who ran the company.
Inconsistencies:
-Jim Bravura wasn't black, and died in the game but lived in the movie. In the game he was Max's friend and him getting killed was what got him framed to begin with, where, in the movie, his other friend got killed trying to tell him iformation and he got framed for that. Unless they become good friends in the sequel and Max gets framed for his murder it's going to leave a hole.
-Max was younger in the first game and didn't meet Mona till the second game, where he was older.
-Max took Valkyr, which is in contrast to the first game where Painkillers in a pillbottle he always took when injured. I assumed in the first and second game he didn't like Valkyr because it was what the people who slaughtered his family were hopped up on but in all reality, we never really know what the painkillers actually were. He just kinda took anything lying around. The Valkyr made it a bit more epic and believable tho considering what we learned about what it is, was meant to do and what went wrong.

Wow, so it was actually surprisingly close to the game. And to Hotrod, I didn't say that I agreed with the amount of action being enough/not enough, I was just saying that's what others said.
Just saw the movie today. The first 20-30 minutes are so are pretty cool, especially visually. There is a lack of action. Like, there's a good stream of it, but a lot of the time only like, one person will get killed or punched. There was one awesome action scene, rest were pretty plain, with a few good moments. I found myself very bored for a good middle chunk of the movie.
But by far, the most ANNOYING thing in the movie was:
LIKE, FIFTY FUCKING PEOPLE FROM TV SHOWS.
Seriously, like, people you know by their character names, not even their real ones. Two people were even from the same goddamn show.

This movie looked too action-cliche to me. I never played the game either. As much as I love the whole demon vs human concept, I'm not really into the character's overall appearance. He just looks generic to me, and I guess thats one of the factors that sells me on a game. /shallow bastard
Also wtf kornman your sig is not a link <>

Which ones were in the same show?
I recognized Mila Kunis(that 70's show) Donal Logue(grounded for life) Amaury Nolasco(prisonbreak).
They're actors, god forbid you see them in something other than what you know them from. :)
I thought the movie was pretty good, but I never played the game, so idc about accuracy. It didn't have a lot of action scenes, but I don't think that made it boring, just more plot and dialouge driven. I've heard a lot of people say the middle was boring, but It was interesting enough for me. Again, it just didnt have a lot of action there. Loved the visuals though, especially the firey sky with the things flying around.

I can dismiss one or two people, but when it's so many, for me, it kills immersion a little bit.
And there were two people from Heroes. The annoying girl who is fast, and some black guy, I don't remember his role/power, since I've seen like, one episode recently.

Seriously, fucking Mark Wahlberg was the main character in this film. It was going to suck the minute he auditioned for it.Thank god Uwe Bole didn't fucking film it as well.
At least I know the cinematography is going to be good, but with MarkyMark shitting on Max Paynes depth with his complete lack of a brain and acting talent, whats good wouldn't matter.
Too bad, so sad.
Looks like I have to repost a MarkyMark special.

I completely agree, I didn't see it yet, but when ever u see movies with tons of familliar actors that are well known for playing specific roles other than what there doing, it ruins the experience.
Solution, fire who ever casted the movie... XD
Good casting is, maybe a few (1-2) familliar faces, playing roles that they should be playing. Other than that, its overkill and wierd. Seriously someone from that 70's show lol...

He's rich and famous because back in the 90's, too much baby sitting money was being passed around.
