Did Halo really have to stoop this low? The only thing that sounds worthwhile is the bonus DVD with never before seen footage. What do you guys think?

Did Halo MS really have to stoop this low milk its cow? The only thing that sounds worthwhile is the bonus DVD with never before seen footage. What do you guys think?

Yes, and the only reason that DVD is there is so people like us will be temped into buying it.

Sad, really, but it was always going to happen.

This doesn't seem that bad, but it's not something I'd get.

Watched the little video on the Halowiki page... Is it like an unspoken knowledge that the majority of Halo players are 11? Because they're really patronizing me here... No effort whatsoever...

Well thankfully, there will always be other ways to get the DVD...

like ebay :downs: [/save]

When's the Halo trading card game coming out

Actually looks kinda neat. Needs more Lego style modular map add-ons and characters.

Or they could just team up with Games Workshop and make a shit ton of money on a REAL strategy board game.

Milking it too much imo.. I hate that :/

I refuse to buy this. I will wait until the day after it is released, go to a torrent site/youtube, and watch the bonus DVD or download the iso that way.

So why is everybody hating on this?

Somebody came up with a different take on an established sci-fi universe those fucks :mad::mad:

Seriously, it doesn't sound that bad. If they were making Halo Party for Gamecube, or making the Chief a playable character in the next Soul Calibur, I would agree with all the nerd rage boiling up here.

Honestly this just strikes me as a standard marketing ploy. It's a successful game. Let's expand this game into a million successful games. :/

Funny thing, that tends to happen with a lot of successful games.

D&D branches off into a thousand other roleplaying games, Magic branches off into Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, etc., Warhammer branches off into 40k, apocalypse, space hulk, battlefleet gothic, it goes on and on.

It's even happened with video games. Wolfenstein becomes doom becomes quake becomes every FPS ever.

So why is it suddenly milking?

Halo Monopoly would be cool...but then again, I find any kind of monopoly cool.

Halo monopoly would be cool as long as I always got to be Guilty Spark.

Cause then everytime I got a monopoly I could hum loudly and say "I am a genius"

From what I've read/seen and after talking to some fa/tg/uys, the rules system seems to be similar to Space Hulk which is by no means a bad thing.

Except it's 3D :o

E: wait

Not letting that slide.

Magic was made by Wizards (same people who make D&D). Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemanz were stupid games designed to get kids to part with thier money. If you want to be good at magic, you need an IQ of at least 100.

Also 40K came from a combination of Space Hulk and WHF (or atleast 40K as we know it today. Rouge Trader was going to be a lot more like BFG except less battle orientated). :ssh:

That's a rather unsightly beard you've got on your neck, sir. I think you missed the point.

The point on the card games was someone seeing the successful idea and trying to emulate it.

Wow.. This is almost as bad as dare I say it?... Barack Obama's campaign strategies! (go to school in a white trash/black trash school and you'll see it)

Next you know Halo gets its own Clothing Line and Obama has his own Alien Invasion Game.
