The Titanic is the most famous ship ever. Because it sunk.

I have never heard of that ship until now and I doubt anyone I know has, but people know about the Titanic.

They're rich, they can do what they want!

(someone should sue them for not giving their money to the poor countries!)

Either thats a horrible obama joke, or a horrible attempt at sarcastic humor.

They may know it better when the full name is typed or said aloud. Sad day, sad day.

They shoulda clicked the link!

Its Queen Elisabeth 2. Fastest liner in the world, travelled the biggest distance than any other ship, 2.5 million passengers. We used it as an international base for Vietnam war.

well iv never heard of it, but i think the titanic is more famous, because the ship was clamed "the unsinkable ship" and it sunk. and the captain came from where i live, england, staffordshire/stoke-on-trent, hanley, i live down the road :D

At least it'll become a hotel along with all of the other old famous ships. :3

Sad, I think it would have been more proper to let it stay in English hands given it is a British ship =<.

Sad day indeed.

Because Dubai is going to run out of oil in the future, they are planning on making it the worlds number one destination for tourism. That explains many of their amazing architectural projects which pretty much give us the biggest wow factor anywhere in the world in just one small area.

Titanic was and is more famous still, sorry to burst your bubble. The QE2 is impressive but it's not anywhere near as glorified as the Titanic, maybe if they hit an ice berg on the way to Dubai and sink it people will note its name.

Only reason I knew what it was is due to the fact that the main North/South highway to the next city in a Northerly direction from here is called the "Queen Elizabeth 2" (or QE2).

As far as early twentieth century liners go, I'm quite partial to the Lusitania and the Mauretania.
