Samurai X: Trust & Betrayal (OAV) (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=210) (Four-Part Thing that might as well be a movie)
Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade (movie) (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=161)

Thing with Samurai X is that I know I would LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it. Its just that I missed the series and I have too much life irl to watch it. So watching the movie would kill me.

Actually, the movie is a prequel... I haven't touched the Samurai X series yet I've watched it. There's nothing to miss, because there's nothing you need to know when going in to watch it. :-3

Regular Samurai X/Kenshin (Not the OAV) is pretty shitty tbh.
E: Actually... I wouldn't say shitty, but not that amazing.

Se7en- Morgan "Motherfucking" Freeman and Brad Pitt in an epic crime story that relates to the 7 deadly sins.

There Will Be Blood- Best movie of last year. Daniel Day Lewis with the best goddamn performance I've seen in ages. (Fuck No Country for Old Men)

Sunshine- Thought it was amazing. Pretty dumb from a scientific point of view but really hits that "alone in space with 7 dudes" kinda feel.

That's what I've seen recently I guess?

Seriously, beneath the hilarious cheesyness there's a great story.

Also,
Dark City
Seriously.

EDIT: Check out Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter.
The awesomeness of this flick is beyonf epic.
Im being double serial.

No love for waking life?

:maddowns: :saddowns: :maddowns:

I thought it was way too overloaded with way to complex stuff. The art may be interesting, the dialoges intelligent but if i wanted to sit through one and a half hour of a lecture, i would go to my friggin lectures. I dont think it worked as a movie. I still like skimming through clips of it though.

Waking life was ok, but it didn't work when I was sleepy...it's not like other movies where it could grab me regardless of how tired I am...

The Promotion is a pretty good one I saw recently, kind of a more subtle comedy. Its got John C. Reilly, Seann William Scott, Jenna Fischer(Pam from the office) and a few others.

I loved waking life. Yes, it's an hour and a half of lectures, but it's great if you're going in not expecting anything entertaining. (which I still found it VERY entertaining) Everything in the movie makes perfect sense, and the semi-story it has going on isn't all that bad eaither. I thought philosophy was dumb before I saw it.

Be Kind, Rewind really isn't worth watching on account of the fact that Jack Black is annoying as all hell, and the movie isn't anything special.
I suggest Full Metal Jacket; I love the first half.
