So just out of curiosity here, I'm wondering what those of you that work get paid. Obviously you don't have to answer if you're sensitive about the topic or you can't answer due to contract... The poll options are listed in WEEKLY terms, so if you get paid bi-weekly divide your total by two to get your answer, etc...

I personally get paid $420 a week.

E: Oh right, hours... I'm working full time so that's $420 for 40 hours.

I get paid around $155/week after tax for 15 hours work, paid in cash :3. Minimum wage owns.

So minimum wage is like $11 over there? Nice.

Minimum wage here in Alberta is like $8.40 and I'm getting paid $11 so it's not that bad.

It's $12/hour before tax, so I think i'm being paid a little higher than that. I'm working at a small petrol station though, so it's pretty cruisy.

I make $6.55 hourly, and work 33-35 hours per two weeks for an ISP

Wtf, come to Melbourne please. I've got a casual job, I get paid $11 an hour. Minimum wage for proper jobs is like $20ish. For people aged 16 its $8, but then changes once they turn 17, 18, 19, then yeah proper wages.

$1,000 for one job, every three weeks, and then the other job pulls in about $100 or so weekly, for 10 hours average, grand is in cash so it's non-taxed, and the $100 is taxed and I have 401k, health care, and a small amount going towards stock purchases per week.

Leaves me a bit better off then pay check to pay check, with the way I live at least, not bad for a college student. :p

also, cocks

see but the thing is unless your under the age of 16, working part time or casual and have no expense's your going to be earning more then 500 a week.

500 a week is pitiful if you have any sort of payments that need to be made, such as a house, car, personal loans, petrol, groceries, rent........

You speak the truth. I work a minimum wage job making 150-200 a week. It didn't help when I had a cell and it def. wouldn't help if I were to get my car and start paying for all of it's expenses. I need to find a better job.

No I don't.

I'm a waiter, so my tips are taxed, which comes out of the $2.13 I earn per hour.

I make about $50/hour.

Too bad I only work about 1 hour a month.

I don't get a regular paycheck, being a freelance photographer and all. But on average, each photoshoot I do, I get around ~$1000-2000HKD, so.. about $130-250US per job.

That still doesn't make sense, this still means you would be paid lower than minimum wage.

On a long week during the summer, I can make upwards of $500. Right now, it being winter, me not being a driver, and having classes 2 days a week, somewhere around $100-$150. Being a moving man during the winter sucks if you're depending on it. I've got over $8k stashed, and have limited expenses - this semester's classes were free due to financial aid.

I used to get like $100 AUD a week being a tafe bum, I just landed myself a job doing flash web stuff at a studio, haven't started yet so I dunno what the pay is like..I expect a hell of a lot better than 100 a week, so I'm happy with anything over that for a while.

This is a really fucking stupid thread though.

I work part time at our local grocery store. Get paid weekly, make around 150-200. Usually 200+ a week if I take extra hours from someone who needs to call off to do something else.

When I was a kid that really confused me. I saw that books cost more in Canada and I assumed it must be because they had to be shipped further, all the way up into the arctic circle.

Mines in NZD, because you can't compare my wage here to your wage there, because in the past few months the NZD has crashed - but my buying power hasn't.

I get paid biweekly which is retarded imho, but weekly that would add up to about $250-$300 per week depending on how many hours I'm scheduled per week.

paladin
November 19th, 2008, 04:12 PM
My paychecks averaged about $1900-2100. That's every 2 weeks.

My paychecks are too sporadic to say a certain amount per week. But I do know my rate, $20 an hour. Teaching music rawks.

Um $0/£0. Yeah no job =\

This thread makes me feel lazy, probably am.

Considering only my rent is £75/$112 USD, thats only rent I have to pay tons of other tills/taxes, I'd have to have a job making $400 a week to be ok, hence why I have £6k in debt right now and its only going to go up :O

Never really had a respect for how little educators are paid until I got my job as a full-time English teacher this year. ._.

I mean it's not minimum wage or anything, but 16/hr is balls.

People from the internet are allowed to teach English?
Society is doomed.

Yea, I get paid Bi-Weekly as well. Hopefully those of you that do as well didn't vote with your Bi-Weekly total. Mine is upwards of $840 Bi-Weekly, it's usually more because I sell lots of our "Product Service Plans" on Consoles and other applicable products so I get commission off of them.

Yeah but I had to go through a 4-year college education and am stuck in the educational buerocracy e_e

Actually, it's quite the modest paycheck and I appreciate it; the average is 12/hr, I think. Still, everybody else I know is earning 20 or higher, so it (relatively) makes me feel poor.

That, and everything else is infinitely more expensive these days.
