The car in front of me on I-35 had an accident with another truck
I hit them
A saturn hit me
A buick hit the saturn
The truck in the front that caused it took off immediatly...no-one knows who it was.
My car has a demolished front and frame buckling in both front and back....

Wow, what a bad day. *Inspects white car's liscense plate* I can't read it well, but lucky for you I can tell it didn't say 'Jcapp.' :-3 So what happened to that truck? If a car crashed into them, wouldn't they not be at blame, but the people who crashed into them? Must be stupid, I hope they have fun repairing their own car with their own money.
Edit: Is that a super-soaker I see below the basketball?

surprisingly not a single person had a scratch or bruise, and we were all standing on the side talking. The truck in front that was not at fault probably took off because they didn't have insurance.
but these cars are becoming hard to find in that condition....

So I was driving in my truck last Friday night, and I hit a car on I-35. I immediately realize my insurance information is at home, and not wanting to hold up the accident report filing with the cops, I drive back home to get it. By the time I get back, everyone's gone. I called the cops, but I doubt they'll do anything about a hit-and-run when I didn't even get the license plate.

sup emmzee how's that alt working out for you
That sucks, man. Mum had a truck run up the back of her at a set of lights when she was bringing some of my stuff up earlier this year... we thought it'd be a write-off but they managed to fix the car up pretty well.

$1500 so far. Parts found on craigslist and a couple trips to the local salvage yard. All damage was cosmetic, it still runs and drives strong.

My uncle restores and paints cars as a hobby, and offered to paint my car if i bought the materials. He is very good at this stuff, and I know I am getting a very nice paint job. Total cost to me ~$300 (as opposed to the $1000 and up for someone else.)
I am a lucky bastard

Are you gonna choose a different color or keep the same one? I think a dark royal blue would be BEAST on that, then again I just like blue generally *looks at avatar*

Wish I was, but that would mean painting the engine compartment, interior panels around the door, the inside of the hatch, etc. Too much work, and the red was nice enough. No it's getting exactly the same color

Just to throw it out there I think green would have been nice also. I dunno it just seems red is too common of a car color to me. Never favored red cars even when I was little.

Good to see that you've got your car up and running again! I'm impressed. One question though: What sort of insurance did you have on the vehicle? I initially expected you to be relying on an insurance plan to either repair the car or acquire another one.
Where I live there's only one company that insures automobiles and given that body shops here are certainly not cheap I have no choice but to use that insurance plan. It's actually worked for me, my brand new Toyota Highlander Hybrid got hit in the rear corner by some idiot going 50 km/h above the speed limit about a month after it left the dealer's lost, and the repairs (including replacing the lights) cost my dad nothing :D.

Heres the insurance deal. I have liability only on it through Allstate, so Allstate was not responsible for repairing my car.
Since it was a chain-collision, no tickets were issued and no-one was faulted. We didn't really want to mess with having our own insurance premiums go up, so we didn't really file any claims.
The girl that hit me in the saturn lied to her insurance company, telling them she was PUSHED into me by car number 5. This was complete bull, so we filed a claim against her because she did rear-end me.
Her insurance company said: Since my car was considered totaled when I hit the truck in front of me, my car was given a "salvage value." When she hit me, all it did was lower my "salvage value" and they were only responsible for the difference: I recieved $350, which went toward the body parts.
Oh and: coat of sealant

Holy smokes! Impressive dude, it looks brand new (and in a way, it is).
As for avoiding future pile-ups, I'd say just don't feel pressured to break the speed limit; while speeding usually isn't the direct cause of a car crash, common sense tells you that crashing at high speed does more damage than crashing at low speed.
