In the rules, the section about correct grammar is a run-on sentence.

By participating on the board, you agree that you are capable of typing in English legibly, able to use proper English grammar, and able to discuss topics at hand with some show of intelligence, and you understand that posts that do not follow these guidelines may be deleted without notice, resulting in punitive action including, but not limited to simple warnings, limits on ability to use the board, and bans, temporary or permanent.

I just found that funny.

:D

Actually, no, I didn't notice that, nice find. Not that a run-on sentence is that big of a deal though.

You really think many would? Of course not, they are just there to be looked at when needed. Unless some people do read them, cool.

I read them :saddowns:

To point out a section of the rules for anyone who hasn't read them.

You joined Feb yet you only just read the rules, tut tut.

I gave them a brief look when we had to click yes to be able to post. Its pretty much common sense.

Also in grammar, when the hell are you suppose to use ";"?

I didn't read them... I wrote them.

I hate semicolons. There is NEVER a time when its convenient to use. There is ALWAYS a simpler alternative to it.

Actually, for people like me who prefer ridiculously long sentences, a semicolon is an excellent alternative to either sequencing several extremely short sentences or inserting tons of commas; in fact, this sentence can easily use one, and it's much simpler than trying to seperate each independent clause.

Also, you misspelled there. :eng101:

Wouldnt this work fine too?

Yea, but... I pause on the period when I read it, and it screws up the flow of the sentence? Whereas I just kinda acknowledge the semicolon and then wisk over it.
