Scientology Center

HOLLYWOOD (AP) ― Los Angeles police said a security guard at a Scientology building shot and killed a sword-wielding man Sunday.

Detective Wendi Berndt said Monday that 48-year-old Mario Majorski of Oregon was shot once as he tried to attack guests with a pair of samurai swords. A Scientology spokesman said Majorski had been a Scientologist in the early 1990s but appeared to have left the church about 15 years ago.

Berndt said Majorski was known to the security guards and had been involved in prior incidents.

According to Tommy Davis, a Scientology spokesman, Majorski threatened the church in a string of incidents dating to at least 2005. The threats were allegedly made through faxes and telephone calls.

Officer April Harding said the man approached the guard with a sword in the parking lot of the Scientology Celebrity Centre International, at 5930 Franklin Ave., around noon Sunday.

Harding said the guard "felt threatened for his life" and fired at the unidentified man. He was pronounced dead at County USC Medical Center.

Homicide detectives have cordoned off the building in Hollywood to investigate.

The eight-story high, white, Norman Revival building towers over the Hollywood Freeway at Bronson Avenue, and was a Hollywood landmark known as the "Chateau Elysee" hotel in the 1940s. Scientologists have used the facility for educational meetings and Scientology courses.

Numerous celebrities who have joined Scientology have attended what the church calls "auditing sessions" at the facility, which the church describes as "guided thought therapy."

Majorski did not live in Southern California and detectives were trying to establish if he had come here to carry out the attack.

Police are treating the shooting as justifiable because it was carried out to protect the lives of others.http://cbs2.com/local/Scientology.shooting.sword.2.871697.html
An teenager who saw the man arrive in the parking lot said he stopped the car abruptly in the driveway and climbed out with a 5-foot sword in his hand and an angry expression on his face. Tony Marquez, 17, said the man, who was bald and had tattoos on his arms, walked toward the building, then returned to the car to get the other sword. And a short summary for those of you about tl:dr

Epic Sword Guy, aka Mario Majorski, was a batshit insane former Los Angeles scilon (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Scilon). On November 23rd, 2008 (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/2008), he fatefully decided to test his mighty hanzo steel (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Weeaboo) dual-wielding prowess. Unfortunately the power of the Western gaijin's ultimate technique (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Gun) proved too mighty in the parking lot of the Scientology (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Scientology) Celebrity Center, and Tom Cruise (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Tom_Cruise) painted the town red with blood.
Majorski is now fighting the good fight against our galactic oppressors alongside Xenu (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Xenu) in Heaven (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Heaven) with the help of Lisa McPherson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lisa_McPherson) and Shawn Lonsdale (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Shawn_Lonsdale). It is rumored that you (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/You) will end up there to if you think doing stupid shit like this (http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Chanology) is cool. And you do.

Anyone think this is related to Anon? Or just some crazy random guy wanting to take out some celebs.

What will happen to the security guard who shot him, will he be prosecuted or what?

It was in self defense, so I think he's not going to be prosecuted.

Thank god there was a security guard there. Scientologists or not, those were people in there.

Me too... It just happens an ex-scientologist pulls up and starts going insane with swords? Setup in my opinion, probably for publicity.

Ex-CoS member goes to CoS meeting, swinging swords, so the CoS security guards shoot him.....

Under their "fair game" policy, it's their belief that they should destroy an ex-member even if he wasn't swinging a sword. Either way, shooting somebody with a sword is super lame.

ANYONE goes to CoS meeting, swinging swords, CoS guards shoot him... =_=

Why would the guards know him by face if he left 15 YEARS ago?

Especially if it's to kill them. The guard could have just shot his arms or something, so he wouldn't be able to hold the swords anymore, or his legs, but killing him? That's going a little far.

Unless your some excellently trained marksman, your probably just going to shoot to hit him at all, not pick and choose body parts. Shoot the attacker before the attacker can hurt someone, that's what's most important.

Unless he's not an expert marksman?

I guess that's true, but it doesn't sound like he even tried to not kill him.

Um, this guys profession is a security guard. This is his career, he has to be a pretty decent marksman.

I hope theres an investigation about whether the guard used extreme force, of course he needed to do something, I'd be interested in knowing where the victim was hit. I'm betting the chest.
