In short, a chemist claims that the Earth is young, since the Bible supposedly says so (he doesn't realize that the Bible is symbolical, not literal), and claims that Jurassic Park is based off of real life.
Ok, there's more, but if you have the time, or patience, look at some of it, if you want a good laugh, that is.

Is he ranting about Jurassic Park?
He's trying to compare it with how dinosaurs lived with humans, and trying to say it got inspiration from that. He then tried to translate some movie elements into real-life happenings. Utter Bullshit.

I dont for the record and I think anyone that does is foolish.
I hate this "lul, your religion is dumb" kind of atheist.
Why would you care? Let them believe what you want to believe.
Some people dont have enough self discipline to be able to behave and act morally without the fear of eternal damnation.
Let them be.

Well, it's not necessarily that we're against Christians. I am Christian, but I am level-headed enough to know this guy is a whack job.
I don't like to tell people what to believe. It's really their choice. First amendment, right? However, there is reason those who studied the science and can think outside of the box are so persistent on shooting down Creationism. You might say, "Well, I can believe what I want. It doesn't affect you!" Unfortunately, that's incorrect. Beliefs affect your actions. As long as those who believe in Creationism are allowed to vote, they're affecting ME, and in negative ways too.
If they are adamant about teaching Creationism in school, then I don't want that. If they want the government to step in and do something to back Creationism, whatever happened to separation of church and state? This is the problem. Science is science. It's backed by theory which is backed by fact. This is what is pushing the world forward.

And those people piss me off. Obviously I won't attack them right back, because yes. If you aren't Christian, and look at Christianity it may seem nutty and have alot of...."Loopholes". But damn, attacking people over aim and posting it in your signature how "You owned a christian". That's seriously messed up.
Also, would you support them doing something like taking out "One Nation Under god".???

We're not against christians. We're against radicals and zealots. My mother is christian, and i'm christian, and we follow the belief that the universe was initally started by a higher power, but then let to it's own mechanisms. My family puts science in front of stories for the most part. I bet a bunch of other people on this board are on the same level as me.

I'm with you there Lag, I'm smart enough to realize that most of Christianities stories and beliefs are symbolic, and don't go overboard with it.
But I do feel that some of the people who put things like that in their sigs and attack people of other beliefs are generalizing way too much.

Exactly. Let's say that the Bible is like grilled cheese sandwiches. The majority of people eat them occasionally and enjoy them. There are some people who insist, however, that grilled cheese be not only eaten constantly, but worn as a hat because bread rhymes with head.
No rational person would find anything disagreeable about people contemplating, memorizing, and governing themselves with the teachings of the Bible. However, it is rather undeniably a work which is meant to be applied to individuals morally, ethically, and philosophically. Furthermore, it should be clear as well that it is neither a historical nor a scientific record, as many thousands of things that occur in it have never been witnessed or recorded by any other source (discounting other mythologies.)
Perhaps when grilled cheese sandwiches were first fried in butter thousands of years ago just outside the Cradle of Sandwichisation they were meant principally to be hats. That, however, does not mean that subsequent discoveries showing grilled cheese is better eaten, and hats better made of cloth, should be discounted. Far from it, they should be included to boost the lasting value of the grilled cheese sandwich.

Where do you live?
My brother lives in Eden, North Carolina. It's probably the most religious and conservatist little town in the south east. Every few hundred yards, no matter where you go there is a sign saying "Prepare to meet god" or something to that accord. I visited him for 4 days, each day as we left his house to go visit his friends or do something I was EXTREMELY uncomfortable.
Religious devotion is one thing, but shoving it in other people's face is another; it's rude, it's un-necessary and above all it's bloody annoying. It's also rather terrifying when religion is used as a brain washing instrument.
Anyone who honestly believes this man should be dragged out into the street and beaten with bricks. It's been scientifically proven through Carbon-dating that the earth is over 4 billion years old (4.5 IIRC) and that dinosaurs have been extinct for over 65 million years.

Thats the beauty of researching it. No one will EVER know 100%
All we can know is what we have proof of.
And I dont see any proof of a higher power.
There is proof in what I believe in howerver :rolleyes:http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/7543/hfpc0.gif:rolleyes:

i see lots of references to sig links, and god know's i've got some god quotes :haw:
But i make fun of irrational people and zealots, mainly because i'm completely against any form of mental conditioning that forces a person over time to believe what everyone else believes.
Just because a million people believe something doesnt mean it's right.
I let them be, but if a zealot puts himself on the line he's liable to critisim, and due to he overwhelming evidence and science behind what i support (hint, not believe) he's always going to come out worse off.
Dwood's done it multiple times and he's not in my sig last i checked. where he's warrented himself multiple times with his inability to accept logical arguments as they are presented to him.

Actually, Carbon-14 has a half-life of ~5500 years, so it would be inadequate for measuring the age of the Earth. Isotopes of different elements are used instead.

Meh I don't believe any of us are proper "scientists" whatever that means and even if we were, we could still just roughly focus on one specific field and never actually achieve a holistic perspective of the world that includes all sciences of all fields for a really comprehensive and valuable knowledge of the world. Until we are able to do so, all we do now is rationalize our own preconceptions.
tl;dr Hurr we're not better than them.

You should never use religion to disprove science or visa-versa; people won't get anything out of it. What's worse is using religion to prove something that was already said by other people to be 100x older for forever. But then again, the Earth has been guessed to have an engulfing water sphere in the very distant past, so huge lizards and 900 year old people could have been very possible. Idk the specifics on the sphere exactly, but look it up. I'm too lazy. :v:
