Who the hell would put a picture like that on their facebook.
So that she has an excuse to throw a hissy-fit when it gets removed. Facebook have the right to remove any image they see as inappropriate, as is in the EULA. She doesn't have a leg to stand on, so brings the media in to it.

Ugh, people like this make me semi-rage.

But seriously how dumb can you be... it's a public profile website, little kids use it (middle school and up) and she posts her boob in her childs mouth...
Wow just think what the child will say when it finds out what it's mother did...

Masterz1337

It's not even nudity. I know girls who post pics who just hold their arm across their tits when they put up a topless pic, or post like teasing pics of them topless with their back towards the camera. Nothing happens to them. As much as I like the pics, it's more inapropriate than the mother breast feeding her kid in that pic.

2. Who the fuck would get offended by a picture like that? There's no nipple, and it's not something I can find a logical reason for wanting to shelter children from. Oh no, our children must be protected from the evils of motherhood!

...Though #1 seems to have exempted this from the normal laws of logic. Plenty of idiocy to go around here.

Agreed, there is nothing technically wrong with those pictures that are put up. It's just another occasion that people take to complain about something.

Firstly, you can restrict your profile to your friends. Secondly, even if she didn't no "little kid" has the right to be snooping on her profile anyway.

And let's face it, its breast feeding. It's a beautiful thing for a mother, and she probably just wanted to share it. Granted you may not want to see it, but no one asked you to and it's her freaking profile anyway.

I don't blame facebook for removing it though. It is there site, and they even state that they have the right to remove images as they see fit. It's also pretty stupid to complain about it as well and even worse to bring media attention. But I must say, I've seen some nudity on facebook and no one seems to care, so I can only really see this as people going "OH NO BREASTFEEDING iS EVILL!!!!!!!!!G-GOD NO!".

Suck it up.

I say that its not really about the child feeding, its just that she has exposed breasts. If facebooks rules define that as obscene, then it is obscene. Tough crap for her.

FRain
January 2nd, 2009, 05:21 PM
Why is this nuts? It's breast feeding? Who gives a shit? Besides, if you breast feed, you'll make smarter babies. If you don't you'll make bafoons, that you can run up to in high-school and tip them over, and they'll lay there and not know what the hell to do.

Also: you get sick less. I was breast fed I get sick for about 2 weeks a year. I know people who are gone from school sick at least once a week.

It's a natural thing, I see nothing offensive about it.

How do you know there aren't people out there with breast feeding festishes?
It is the internet..
All of them agreed to the EULA that states they can remove them as they see fit.
You can't complain after you basically sign a contract..

I honestly find this funny because someone thinks they could have posted the picture on FB and gotten away with it. Sure, it's a natural way for a mother to feed their child, but that does not mean they should express it via the internet. The internet sucks with this violation of EULA crap. It's like putting a pie on the ground and telling your dog not to eat it, when you know damn well he doesn't know what the hell you're saying and does so anyways. People violate their freedom of posting pictures. Enough said on my part.

no ones debating whether they can remove the pictures, but whether they should.

Breast Feeding is not only natural, it's necessary. moms shouldn't have to hide from the public eye to do something that doesn't harm anyone else while being extremely beneficial to the child.

people need to grow up and stop trying to shelter people, because the end results of all this sheltering "THINK OF THE CHILDREN" bullshit thats been happening for far too long is a generation of sheltered, inexperienced, conditioned retards that dont deserve to breath, let alone reproduce.

Facebook had the right to delete the photo. They're the owners. There are a lot of people who would rather not see that. Tell me, if you agree with this sort of thing, does that mean you want to see it? No, probably not. Sure, it's natural, but it's clearly a violation of the agreement you made when you joined. It's unneeded to see what you see in the pick. It's not the feeding that makes it exactly bad though; it's the boob and the reaction of those around it that FB wanted to avoid. Whether people can be mature and handle it is a different issue. It's clear that we all can't though. If anything I could point that last sentence at myself.

he has a point though. masters said hes seen pictures of girls on facebook who cover their breasts with their arms and take topless pictures. this woman is posting a picture of breast feeding. people do make blogs about their babies. i understand that its a violation of the EULA, but if that is the case, then why are the topless photos acceptable?
also, the fetish argument is null. some people might have a foot fetish too. should every picture containing bare feet be removed from facebook? i know thats a bit of a stretch, but the point is that it was probably for a blog of the baby

Meh, I'm honestly tired of hearing the stretches in this. Mainly this has arisen because it's such a small case. The topless girls haven't been removed because there are either so many of them OR they are going by a technicality; I think it's the first.

Many mothers find it a source of pride that they breast feed their baby (even for a short while) instead of bottle feeding them formulae like other mothers (read: I'M A BETTER MOTHER THAN YOU).

But really, you could just as easily make the argument "Why would you post a picture on facebook?". :downs:

Sure, it's natural, but it's clearly a violation of the agreement you made when you joined.
Where's the obscene, pornographic if sexual explicitness in the image?

Interesting...My friend who works as a manager in Mc Donalds got in a sticky situation like this but in real life, a women came into his mc donalds store with a baby and started to breast feed in the middle of the store. He went up to the women and asked if she could do that in the baby changing room. She went ape she and called all her friends who have a baby and they all protested by mass breast feeding in the store.

The moral, dont piss off a women when it comes to breast feeding.

Facebook spokesman Barry Schnitt said the company's guidelines regarding exposed flesh allow most breast-feeding photos. However, Facebook draws the line at a visible nipple or areola, he said. Facebook also nixes pictures showing the gluteal cleft.

Shes pissed because something that isnt obscene or sexual, breast feeding is getting removed, while other pictures where girls are wearing pretty much nothing are getting away with it.

Wtf. Almost every girl I know has one of those photos of them with the camera facing down their top.
The girls I know are 16-17 and younger, so they ARE under aged for that sort of stuff.

This woman is 23, she is legal for nudity, but not on face book.

But nudity is usually when you are showing your nips. There is no nipple in that picture, if they class that as nudity/inappropriate, every photo of a girl on face book should be taken of because they are always showing part of their breasts...

The photo they removed:
You might get offended by the lack of breast showing

They'll get around to all the other people posting inappropriate stuff. They rely on the images being reported and investigated before removal, instead of using a nipple-detecting algorithm.
