How do I activate Dev mode online?

I know that its another nooby question, but how do I do it?

I see people using it online all the time in RPG maps, and I try asking them, but they just blow me off, or don't help much. On my desktop I have two icons for halo, one is for regular custom edltion, and one is for dev mode, but I can't go online with that one.

I have console activated in regular custom edition, but it won't let me activate cheats, or even play custom campaign maps.

Once you start a server online, you can press page up, and it will turn on devmode.

Keep in mind that Developer Mode cheats only work while you're hosting.

But, some developer commands will work when you're not hosting.

But they are not too helpful.

Okay, I downloaded the file, and placed in the halo folder, and pressed page up when I started a server, but it still won't let me use cheats.

I'm I supposed to put it in a specific folder in the halo folder, or are the codes different online. For example, usually I type, "cheat_deathless_player 1", is this right?

Nah, its cheat_deathless_player, underscore for every space between the commands.

I tried that and it didn't work, do you have to type something after the cheat, besides a 1?

That should work.

If you are using bitterbannas dev mode application then you dont even need to put it in the Halo folder. If it isnt working when you make your server and press PageUp then press Alt Tab to switch to the aplication and see if it is turned on.

Does the console even show up?

If it does, what does it say when you enter it?

To make sure dev is on, while in console, press tab and it should list a hell of a lot of commands, not just the sv_ ones, a LOT more.

Still didn't work, when I push tab, it only shows the sv_ codes, and when I type in the codes it says, for example, Requested function "cheat_deathless_player" can not be activated now.

I have pressed page up, the application is in the folder, and the purple console is showing up during the game.

This is just getting ridiculous, stupid dev mode. Oh and when I press Alt, tab it just minimizes the game.

I noticed you didn't say that you started the program. Did you?

Yeah, when you press alt tab to minimize the game look at the application and se eif it is turned on. The text should be Green.

Where did you put it?

I put it in the main halo folder, the one that contains the maps folder, content folder, and so on.

You don't have to put it in there..., but when you ran it and ran halo, did you press the PageUP key? Did you check to see if it says in green font if its activated?

Okay, as another example of how much of a stupid noob I am, I finally realized what to do.

I didn't run the alldev program, I didn't know that I could, but after reading the last two posts, I figured out that I could.

It works now, thank you to everyone that posted, and sorry for how noobish I am.

Well we all gotta start some one. Just remember that not all commands will work if your not the host of the server, super jump, deathless player, unlimited ammo, the list goes on.

But i was wondering if there is a was to use dev/dev commands on my regular halo(halopc) Dedicated Home hosted sever. I hoping IMega sever app will be available soon for.But it'd just be nice to use all those helpful commands

Sorry, you can't use devmode, there is a devtrainer for it, gives you all the cheats, but not all the commands.
