I've recently found an exception halt error when trying to create a piece of scenery. I've found a similar error to do with animation graphs, but the information relating to my error has eluded me. Here I will post the entirety of my error message.
Couldn't read map file './toolbeta.map'

EXCEPTION halt in .\intermediate_geometry.c,#444: triangle->material_index>=0 &&
triangle->material_index<old_material_count
Clearly, there error has something to do with materials, but I can't figure out what is wrong with the way i've set them up. If anyone can provide some pointers, please do so. I would greatly appreciate it.

Heh, again?
Yeah, you've got a bad material ID somewhere.

Wow... Is it possible to -rep myself? Tweek was right. I need to learn to search better.
your answer is in there.
learn to search.
that thread is actually on THIS PAGE.
extra-fail
I have to apologize once again for being stupid and leave myself open to slaps upside the head in addition to the one I'm giving myself now.

No need to apologize for your mistakes as long as you recognize them and learn from them. Sometimes it takes another person to point out whats under your nose.

Thanks for that paladin. Um I have another question and I didn't want to waste this thread. Although I did find an answer on a number of other threads, that answer is not working for me for some reason. I've been correcting these same (possibly recurring) errors for about three days now, and I'm getting a little frustrated. Basically, I will get a small number of open edge errors, which I correct, then I after I export, tool rejects it saying that there are now overlapping faces (orange). So I import the .wrl and look for orange polys, correct the error by deleting the faces and recreating them, and I re-export it. Now here's the crazy bit: Either new open edges occur, or overlapping faces occur in a different part of the model. I must have exported about fifty times over the course of the last few days, and I'm not sure what to do now.
By the way, should I be concerned about the warning about nearly coplanar faces (red and green), or not since it usually exports fine in my previous experience?

Dont worry about coplanar faces, theyre a waste of your time. As for the open edges, try selecting all vertices and welding. Some times youll have two vetices in a spot and have triangles attached to either one.

I've tried that. I'm wondering if anyone ever had these recurring errors. I mean, shouldn't either all errors appear in the .wrl in the first place or is something I'm doing causing the errors. I hope it's not the latter.

Try remodeling it...

I was hoping to avoid that, but I guess it has reached that point. Thanks for your help paladin.
