View Full Version : HEK+ Freezing

So in an attempt to get some of the tags out of WoL's map (yes, with his permission) I noticed that when I go to use HEK+ it freezes when I go to any of the drop down menus. I don't really know what's going on. I used it back when I had XP, and it was fine, but I just left it on my external hard drive for use later. But now it seems that it doesn't work. I've tried setting the compatibility to just about everything (running on Vista) with no luck. And I downloaded it again in hopes that there might have been a missing file or something, but again, no luck.
Please help.
And if there's an alternative way of doing this that I'm not aware of, please let me know.

Right click the executable, go to properties. On the properties window go to the Compatibility tab, then check the "Disable desktop composition" checkbox, and hit apply. It should work now.

Doesn't this belong in the Halo Custom Edition section? Anyways, Disable the Desktop composition, like ShadowSpartan said above, works for me.

No it doesn't, it belongs in tech because it has to do with a program not responding. But thanks to whomever changed it I guess.
Way to backseat moderate.

I have to agree with Robert on this one. An issue with HEK+ does infact belong in the Halo CE section, because it was made for Halo 1. It doesn't really fit in the Tech Talk forum, and a moderator moving the topic only helps to strengthen the argument of posting it in the CE section.
Anyway, did my suggestion fix your problem?

Yes it did, douchebaggery and all.
