So I was going through some of the computers that I currently have in policy, and I noticed that I couldn't actually connect to one of them. I was getting the logon failure of "The target account name is incorrect." I basically did a wtf, as I had been remotely connected to the computer no less than a week before. What further puzzled me, was that I was on a domain level administrative account, straight up administrator. So I went down to the computer, checked through the WINS settings, and DNS settings, where everything was where it was supposed to be. So I check that all of the shares are enabled to give admin the proper authority to acces/use/change them. They were. At this point, I'm puzzled. I've only ever heard of this happening when people have migrated Active Dir to different servers etc. That hadn't happened in this case. After a 5 minute love affair with google, I just decided to try rejoining the domain, and flushing the DNS cache, which did the trick.
So now I ask you all, how the fuck did this happen?
