Exercise is fun!
I know, right, how could they have kept this hidden from us for so long?!
I always hated running on a track or a treadmill, and I can't stand weight lifting, but fuck, rock climbing is fun as hell, and so is long distance bike riding.
And there's like, endorphins and such! Oh my science, it makes perfect sense, that doing things that are good for your body would trigger a pleasurable response; it's an evolutionary trait.
I happily join the ranks of you who willfully devote your time and energy to exercise, and implore all those who do not to follow suit!
In all seriousness, how frequently do you guys exercise, and what sorts of things do you enjoy- seasonally and regularly?
Me: irregularly: snowboarding, Taekwondo, swimming, sprinting
regularly: climbing/bouldering, biking

I walk to and from school daily, I walk around town with some out of town friends who drop by on weekends from time to time, and occasionally I walk, or run around the forest nearby my house.

DDR in school, 4 times a week. I usually get 4 or 5 songs, not sure what that equates to in terms of time. Heavy/Oni 1.5X Boost Shuffle, Standard for Max 300 or anything along those lines.
Besides that I usually walk about a mile or so every couple of days when I don't feel like waiting for the bus.

Walk to and from school every day (~15 mins each way), do 25-35 minutes of weight lifting every weekday, run 2 miles every other day.
I also go skiing for a week at least twice a year - over winter and spring break, if not a few more times in between.

Today I scaled a barn with a grappling hook and rope. That was fun as hell, and very tiring.
I have a weightlifting class at school every other school day, but recently I've been doing more socializing than I have actual exercising. Weight lifting is boring. There is really no rush to get from it (imo) and there's nothing fun about it that makes you want to do it. Its more fun to some type of sport or exciting actuvity, such my example above, or parkour or something.

I work out 4 days a week of resistance training for 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours a session, cardio at least 30 minutes a day or I run the lakes (longest run is 7 miles) 6 times a week.
Beyond that I'll play any sport people want to play.

Weight lifting for at least an hour 4 days a week (not all in a row), track practice for 2 hours every day, or alternatively football depending on the time of year. Time of practice for that can vary, but it's typically 3 hours a day. I usually do extra work for track on the weekends, which can be around an hour long.

I...Don't excersize. D:
I have a high metabolism that allows me to eat like a horse and never gain weight-- and it's made it hard to really commit to any form of physical activity.
Probably should though. I've heard that even skinny people can get high cholesterol later in life :/

Heh, neat, that's the most unusual exercise I've heard in a while. May I ask why you were doing this? Did you just think to yourself, "Hey, I should go scale a barn"?
I have a high metabolism that allows me to eat like a horse and never gain weight-- and it's made it hard to really commit to any form of physical activity.
I have exactly the same problem, plus I have a really nice computer and a really comfortable chair, and I know of enough websites to keep me busy indefinitely. Still, without gaining weight I did gain volume as muscle was replaced by fat... I've never considered myself fat, but I am rather ill-defined. Still, that never was enough motivation in itself for me to exercise. For me, the exercise has to be self-motivating: it has to be fun.
Which reminds me, I accidentally left one of my favorites off the list: ultimate frisbee! Yes, I know, I'm a male college student studying engineering; my liking ultimate is as cliche as a frat boy telling you he likes to party.

Same. My day consist of sitting on my ass without leaving my house. The most effort I use is to squeeze out turds into the john. I'm skinny as hell, but I have no motivation to build muscle. I just don't care. :|

I got most of my exercise at work. Now I'm unemployed. :(
I have a gym membership I've been neglecting since things went bonkers. Once I get things settled down I'll start going back; I usually would run the treadmill or bikes for about a half hour, and do various weights.

this exercise thing is an intriguing concept, but what does your weekly diet consist of?
i eat fairly healthy meals, Lamb, chicken beef ect, all with a big side of Veggies and pastas.
Together with work i really dont need to exercise as much as other people.
Got a rediculous metabolism, mostly healthy diet and a physically draining job, i dont store alot of fat, but on the inside i reckon i'd be a bit off.

Same here when I'm not airsofting. Except that I've had a bunch of diarrhea lately so I don't even need to exert effort on the john, it's nice! My metabolism is ridiculously high as well and I generally eat food all day, three main meals a day plus junk food and snacks, as well as veggie dip plates and stuff like that.

At the local fitness center (I go every weekend and on public holidays), they have these cool exercise bikes there. Basically the bike has an LCD screen stuck on the top. But this is not one of those "bikes-with-TVs" that I've seen too often at hotels. The screen displays a first-person viewwith handlebars and you're basically controlling a virtual bicycle on various scenic paths, much like a video game at the arcade. You can even race with AI opponents (no, you cannot knock them down or get knocked down) to give yourself an incentive to pedal faster. The game is also quite realistic, as in if the screen shows you going uphill, you immediately feel much more resistance in the bike pedals, if you go downhill you feel less, etc. And the virtual scenery is quite pretty and relaxing.
The only thing these "videogame exercise bikes" lack is a network mode that allows you to race a real human opponent on another bike. There are 2 such bikes in the fitness center for now, more are coming soon.
Exercise bikes like these make exercising so much more fun.

I accidentally put 2 - 4 hours a week. I actually work out 5+ hours, especially since I have Systematics (weight lifting) in school. Exercise to me is a way to blow off steam, and keep fit (because I race, and I have to be in shape to be as good as I am/be able to do endurance races). Systematics teaches you a bunch of exercises you can do/use to work out certain parts of your body, and gain muscle. I like it :)

Heh, well I'm working on a Senior prank (I'm not a senior but my friends are) that involves getting onto the roof of the school. I've already gotten up there once in the middle of the night, it was some serious badass ninja shit. Now that was some serious exercise. To make this easier for the next time, we made our own grappling hook, and guess who gets to be the guinea pig to test it out? We went to this barn to test it, and luckily I didn't fall on my ass from two stories up.
And I also have a love for Ultimate Frisbee, though I haven't played a real game in a long time, but I'd like to. I know when I go to college I'll be just as cliche, but its just too fun.

haha, I wish the "video game exercise bike" I just described was like that. Then everyone would be fighting to get a turn on the bike, man. Although it does get a bit boring after you've been chasing an AI cyclist around for twenty minutes and your legs are all worn out.

1st week:
Monday: 5 mile slow run
Tuesday: 2 mile dash
Wednesday: 3 mile recovery run
Thursday: 3 mile dash
Firday: 4 mile recovery run
2nd week:
Monday: broken 1 mile sprints
Tuesday: 6 flying 100 yards
Wednesday: Broken 2 mile sprints
Thursday: 1 mile dash
Friday: 2 mile jog
Repeat.
That's in the morning, afternoon is just weight lifting and conditioning (for wrestling, different from endurance in running) alternating days for each.

Touche.
And to null and void both sides' counter-arguments, you can pass on your knowledge to others and donate your organs when you die. There is good reason to maintain both body and mind despite the fact that you will inevitably lose it all one day.

No, not touche, because being smart can actually make life better. Which is the goal of life, unless of course you are one of those religious folks who believes in life after death. What advantage does being a meathead have with life?
basically, look at the jobs that working out gets you:
Manual labor
Fighter
Athlete
And brainy jobs:
Everything else besides being a clerk at a 7/11
Its alot easier to find a job where smarts qualify you rather than becoming a basketball player or some douche on a dredge in the middle of the ocean.
