Okay so I'm thinking of reinstalling Windows onto my pc. I have two hard drives, C and D, one is a 80gb that I currently have Windows installed on (C) and the other is a 500GBB one that I store tv shows and applications etc.
I am curious, if I put all my files I want to keep onto the D drive. then reinstall Windows. Will I be able to access my files from the other hard drive and copy them back to the primary drive?
And will I have to do any thing to allow it to do that, or will it just automatically allow me?
Cheers

you should be able to access the D drive with no problem.

Okay well I've ran into a problem
When I put the windows xp cd in and select to boot from it. It loads up and does that thing were it looks a drivers.
I then get a BSOD =\.

I've tried it more than once. Any one got any ideas?
I'm using a Windows XP Disk that has SP2 on it, yes its a legit disk.

Try setting the motherboard to Failsafe Default, and check boot priorities. Were you overclocking at all before the reinstall?

Try a W7 installation (via iso-mount)

Use Macintosh, far fewer problems. I speak from experience.

Lol. Great solution, buy an expensive overpriced PC so that you have the capability to run an OS that can't run any Windows apps (or program for Windows as far as I know, something that won't work in Limited's case). Yes, you can run windows on it to, but if he's not going to be getting much use out of Mac OS then why bother paying the extra price?
Not that he's even buying a new computer, anyway.

Try installing another OS, like Windows 7, and if it doesn't work it might be something with your disc drive. Or maybe download a cd off the internet, since you DO have a valid copy of the disc.

I dont partially want a new OS, basically because I have a XP key, and not another key. Plus I dont want to fuck around with beta software.
I have an older cd back in my other home, that has regular XP (not SP2) so I might have to install that, then just update it to SP3.

That's what I do, I have an old CD that was my dads, and just have a cd for drivers and updates that I need. It works pretty well.
