Heathrow to Gatwick

I'm boarding a flight today going to Heathrow. The connecting flight is at Gatwick, and the British Airways' site says that the connection is 3 hours (including a 1:30 bus ride). My connecting flight is 3 hours after I arrive. So, I have no margin.

I just wanted to know if anybody else has gone through this route because I'm a bit worried about getting to my flight.

Um, why cant you just get a bus to Gatwick and fly straight from there?

By the way, Heathrow to Gatwick is like an hour in the car.
