For me, the real defining moment of the game was the beach assault on TSC. The opening cutscene (sitting in the pelican zooming over the ocean, first person in a pelican), the hotdrop and the push up the beach was one of my favourite skirmish's in the game. I only wish it was longer. :(
ITT: your favouite bits in the game and why.

Probably the time when Chief punches Keyes' face in to get his neural interlace. Chief had the right to say ANYTHING badass at that moment.

My favorite part is in b40. Where you find the second group of stranded marines, where the covenant dropship drops in behind you. That entire part, until the inside part, was awesome.
Me and my bro used to play co-op on this. We would just drive through the preceding part, and get all the covenant to follow us down to where that dropship drops. They would all charge down...epic.

The part in A50 where you attack the gravity field platform. I always like that part.
Or the part in B40 where you assault the pyramid. The battle with the Hunters is almost always awesome.

Overall, the Truth and Reconciliation was awesome. I liked the balance and that 'alien' feel. Two Betrayals would have been much better if not for the Rocket Flood, but it ranks the second in my list, due to the well thought out Covenant versus flood battles. Same for Keyes.

I've always liked the ending to "Halo", going threw that massive canyon searching for marines. The Assult on the beach was another one too, but I think the most epic moment was when you drive the hog to the longsword.

343 Guilty spark.
The moment you open that door to see what happened to the marines and the flood jump out the woodwork.

Yeah, that was my favourite too, but the fight didn't last long enough to be truly epic :'(

Personally, I really enjoyed the stairwell fight on The Pillar of Autumn, especially on legendary using plasma pistols.

343 Guilty Spark. I remember first playing that level, at 7, it honestly was scary to me, and I always got lost on the way out. God I wish I could go through that experience again.

Beginning of b30, by far; I still get a kick out of doing that, and it's my favorite place to test campaign shit. a50's beginning is great as well; any kind of sniper level is good in my books.
Of course, it goes without saying that c20 was my least favorite and almost caused me to quit playing entirely.

i love the maw run, the race gametype in sp is very thrilling and takes you away from the fps gametype.
in terms of cutscenes b30's intro and ending was very epic. it starts with a calm scene that turned into a fire fight then goes underground , gah!
the intro and ending scene of a10 was awesome too. finding halo for the first time, and the epic space battle =P

i dont get why everyone hates the library other than its a really repetitive level. even at that though, i dont get bored playing it. i hate the flood levels in halo 2, and pretty much just exile halo 3, but halo 1 never gets old
favorite part is the fear and the atmosphere of keyes when you see the flood. right when the objectives becomes "ESCAPE" i knew the shit was about to had hit the fan

Opening scene of the Silent Cartographer. Actually, the entire level in GENERAL. Since it was the first campaign level Bungie managed to get working in Halo, it's been in there longer than any other level in the game, and the amount of polish it's received as a result is obvious. It's the best level in the game.
The Maw Run comes close, though. And Assault on the Control Room (Sounds like some sort of heavy metal band, doesn't it?).

Back when Halo first came out, I had accidentaly set the game to spanish edition. Only when I played the PC edition much later, I knew what was actually going on.
So my favourite moments all date back to the time where I could only guess what was happening but amazingly enough the atmosphere of the game made up for the language barrier.
I particulary enjoyed the level Halo. Being lost on a foreign structure with only a few humans amidst wave after wave of hostile creatures just did it for me.
In this setting the scarce encounters with allied marines were refreshing and I used to actually care if and how many of them died even this turns out to be babysitter job for the most part.

First truly awesome moment I felt was the Silent Cartographers beach assault. My second favourite part of the game was the Warthog run through the Pillar of Autumn on the Maw. I also loved the ending of 343 Guilty Spark where you link up with the human survivors and kick some flood ass.
P.S. I liked some of the flood levels in Halo 2.

The nostalgia of tsc, heading into center of the island and fighting the hunters. Not as fun now, but it was a blast back then. Library, as hated as it is, I found pretty fun.

The thing about the library isn't that its not fun. The first time around, it was fine. After that though, replaying the game, its fucking atrocious having to go through all that shit AGAIN.

I found that the Library was just one large shooting range with corridors, that's all, really.
