View Full Version : Most Controversial HCE Moment

I know what you all are thinking, "Another Rams thread? GOSH!". Seriously though, after looking at all the controversy that the CMT mod with/without OS topic is causing, I decided to look at and compare it to other controversial moments. We got moments such as the Aimbot leak, Zanzibar leak, l34k clan, Nitrous banning, and heck even the unreleasable rec0 app (which didn't end until recently).

What moment would you consider to be the most controversial? Bring up some past moments (with details if possible) and we'll vote in another thread.

For me, I consider the Nitrous banning to be one of the most controversial moments. The CMT issue is a big one but in my opinion, nothing (although the Aimbot leak is a close second) beats the moment when Reppy banned Nitro for a PM from what I understand. The moment of backlash and spam attacks that followed it were huge. Heck, there were even calls of Reppy being demodded. And what soon followed all of this was the EP vs. GBX war which went on for quite sometime (pretty sure it was two years) before DTS declared the war offically over.

Pretty sure others have more info on this (and quite possibly might even correct me on a few things) but that is what I remember of it...

The release of those Halo 2 stlye maps really brought some controversy along with it.

I say it was before the HEK+ release, the heated discussion over whether it should be able to rip tags from custom maps or not.

This thread is lame and trivial should be put in off topic (even though its about CE i know) its not really contributing to CE development, which is what I wish this CE forum was.

The ripping one was HUGE, along with the all the problems that followed because of people using ripped content without permission.

The time I banned (or threatened to ban, I forget) Beavis from his own server. :v:

At least, that was my most controversial moment. I wasn't around for it but the Nitrous ban but that sounds pretty heavy.

being accused of robbing three banks, raping a young giraffe, stealing an ice cream truck, taking a shit on santa's lawn, and then committing perjury during the whole court case. not to mention the mean hate sex with paladin's mom in the bathroom...

Umm...ripping was a big deal. And i remember when h2ce team was the shit...but their shit got leaked 24/7.
