New posts/Threads suggestion

An idea I just thought of, I think it would be great if that, where the image shat shows that there is a new post/thread, that there would be a small number in the top left or bottom right, which would show how many new posts/threads there are, so you can see if one of your favorite threads might have new posts, or not, even if it wasn't the most recent thread to be posted in.

on the homepage theres most recent posts.
and you can subscribe to threads as well.
