Nearly 2 years since my last map, 3000 hours of competitive halo later, I think I got this whole gameplay thing down. So I decided one day that I wanted to make another map. For the most part, my influences for this map were Quake and Counter-Strike. I doubt I'll be adding much more to it, if anything a few uvw's could use work and some textures would be better if they were tile-able. The weapons etc... are all going to be stock (like they damn well should be :U). Anyway:

teleporters will be added to top and bottom floors of the middle structure.

waterfalls will come out of the giant coin slots in the walls, once I decide to remember how to do them.

Can't say that I love the textures but the layout looks solid. Great work :neckbeard:

The model and textures itself are terrible, absolutely terrible. But it is kinda refreshing to see something other than the forerunner box canyon map. Keep at it.

I don't like the textures. And the model needs a more interesting look.

Something you should keep in mind, is that this isn't quake, what works there, doesn't necessarily work in halo. In those open rooms, try to have things coming out of the ceiling to offer cover, like the thing in chillout near the shotgun.

Lets see, where do I begin.

-I'm sure you know damn good and well that those textures are god awful. Right?

- The modeling is pretty horrible. There's no life in the level at all. It looks very flat and boring. I would put guard rails on the edges.

- I'm not quite sure what's wrong with the bridge but it should either be left completly straight or have the ends of the bridge be longer.

- The corners of the edges don't really need to be chamferd.

- I would re-arrange the stairs, they are too far away from the door. When playing CTF it's going to be a bitch to get the flag back if you need to walk all the way up there.

-The model itself is fine. Guard rails and such would defeat the purpose of what I want for the platforms (what fun is walking next to a giant pit without the chance of falling off)... Trust me if I wanted to put detail over gameplay I would have. I modeled something simple and "bland" because I want it to look almost exactly how it does. I've added some things on spots where I thought the blandness was overpowering.

-The two little bridges are a bit wider than they seem in the picture

-In my eyes they do need to be "chamferd". The platforms would look too plain if they weren't, especially without the trim.

-There is a door on the bottom, and all the spawns aren't down there anyway...

For anyone that might not realize, this isn't supposed to follow a halo design/feel. Personally I prefer the look, gameplay and visual simplicity that maps from older games deliver. Ill update later with ingame ss's.

Yeah looks good and I like maps like this, no matter what game :)
