Starting every damn thread or thread title with "So" is incredibly irritating. Once or twice is no biggie but when I scroll through a section and see about five of them all in a row it really, really gets on my nerves. There's no reason for it, it's not cool, it's not funny, and nobody gives a fuck that you've finally cottoned on to an ancient meme.

I don't think any of the threads with the "so ___________" has been any trouble. I do agree with you that it's pretty stupid to use if all you're doing is trying to get a laugh out of it though.

People who just scream "I NEEDZ HELP!!!" is annoying. I'm not going to read your damn thread if you shout desperately like that. The only way I'll be interested in your thread is if you put a little description about the thread in it's title. It's common sense. Does the news say "Oh my god, you have to see this!". No, they try to hook you with a very brief summary.

I see it as a way to break bad news. A legit example would be "So my cat died..." or "So my dad died".

If its like "So my shoe fell off and got run over by a train" then yes thats ridiculous unless you called your dog "my shoe" in which its still stupid and ridiculous.
