Cheap GSP solution

So my job it to primarily drive around, and I'm equiped with a laptop 99% of the time. What would be a cheap solution for a USB based GPS system, for not only positioning myself but possibly tracking my vehicle.


I would prefer it to be pretty cheap, and preferably use OS software. Anyone else know anything or wanna help? :haw:

If you just want a regular GPS there is a great TomTom for 79.99 with $20 mir on newegg.

My dad got it for the family car and it works great! You can even get custom voices.

It is, but I was more or less looking for something to interface with my laptop, you see I work on a WISP towers, and it would be great for aiming backhauls, being able to positon myself and compare it to other towers. It would also be nice because sometimes my laptop is left in my personal vehicle and I could use it as some sort of security measure.


So I was more or less looking for a usb hardware solution and a free open-source software solution.

Actually in a side note, the TomTom also has a GLaDOS voice... ... which tells you wrong information. "Turn right at the next light" always means "turn left" and vice versa.

Yea, my step dad has one, and I was like holy shit that's GlaDOS.
