Also I have been trying to tag the damn thing but whenever I try to export it via bluestreak/chimp it screws up. Anyone know of a good video tutorial or a very descriptive one?

What error does it give you?
You can also try exporting with blitz

I imported the gbx file, resized, moved etc my model then deleted the ref model. I moved the lodes/markers etc into place. I then took all of the pieces to the gun model and attached them to the frame.
like this

btw everything but frame ____ and #___ are parts of my gun.
I try to export via bluestreak/chimp and it gives me an error.
For chimp it said the frame object could not be found, so I renamed frame gun to frame and it gave me this error

Why do you have so many cylinders, bouttons, and other stuff? Get all that into just 1 mesh, and give it a try

Holy crap, it just exported. I created it all into one mesh(originally it was separate editable polys), and then re-applied the texture. Thanks. Btw does it have to be editable mesh to export?

It can be editable poly, but it has been known to fuck up other types of models (such as BSPS and collision geometry) if its in edit poly.

Bluestreak doesnt like Editable Poly, only exports as Mesh.
Blitzkrieg doesnt care whether its Editable Poly or Editable Mesh, exports either way.

Ok I got it ingame with crap textures but without animations. What do I do to set it up to use the normal pistol animations?

you must use the skin modifier so you can link the bones to each part of the gun...
Try watching the rigging tutorial jahrain made for bipeds, except that you wont be using a whole skeleton but the nodes like "frame magazine" and such.

no
Seperate the magazine, safety switch, trigger, and what ever else you want to be movable to a new object. Then, make a sphere or box or something for each object and call it "frame ____" where ___ is is the name of your object such as magazine, slide, slide release, safety, bullet, etc. Then link the object to frame ___ and then you create markers which I recommend cones (thanks cad) but you can use spheres and set it to things like #primary trigger (Where the bullet comes out) #flashlight and such until you're done.

Do I need to copy all of the lodes/markers or just the ones i want to move? Right now I have all the markers/lodes copied in but they aren't linked to separate frames.

If you want to use the pistol animations, just detach each part from your gun, and link those pieces to the green nodes (frames). Then export.

So leave all the objects I don't want to move linked to frame gun and the pieces that I want to be animated linked to the appropriate frames? Thanks.
