Goat suggested I start a thread, so I'm starting a thread. This weekend (NA's, I assume, as mine starts tomorrow), we should all play some Il-2 online. A fair few of us have it so we should have some pretty decent numbers; however I'm not sure whether it'd be a better idea for someone to host us a server or just to turn up and gatecrash someone else's. In any case, most servers required v4.08m last time I played online; if you have 4.09b1m like me, there's a version changer on AAA (link to their forums in LP thread, then search around for it). Reaper, your P-51 is basically done; Snaf and Ace, your personal rides need work but if you want I can just send what I have so far in advance. Most servers don't display custom skins which is one of the reasons it'd be good for us to host our own.

Anyway, will update this thread as things are finalised. Feel free to discuss or suggest the server issue, times, who's coming, etc.

HYPERLOBBY PROTIPS

Once you download it, register on the site. Run Hyperlobby. When you go to log in, make sure you select Forgotten Battles, NOT IL-2. Once logged in the server list appears on the left; find a server, click its name once, and an info box will open. Hit connect and the game will start and then connect to the server.

DO NOT DEVIATE FROM THIS IT IS IMPORANT

I was playing earlier today, seems Il-2 doesn't want to display chat the way it's meant to. Not sure why, may be something to do with my new PC and the resultant change in settings; not really a problem, though. I bought a Saitek X-52 Pro on ebay, won't be here in time but I'll likely have it in time for next weekend or the one after. We'll have to do this more often.

They do. Il-2 seems to trip out if minimised or if someone messages you in the background, though. Hasn't done it offline, only online.

Uh, IL2 didn't install under W7 64, but it installed on 32 bit, and let me copy the files from that pc onto here.

It ran fine though.
