I make this post out of a sympathetic sense of obligation to my suitemate.
Fairly epic backstory, spoilered for lazy readers:
Approximately 15 minutes ago, my suitemate, slightly intoxicated, found that he was locked out of his room. Instead of doing what most normal people would do, which would be to call Public Safety or see if the window was unlocked, he decided to go through the door.
I felt the force of the door leaving its hinges in the next room. The end result is that the door is completely solo, and unfortunately his roommate's lcd monitor was taken out by the flying door. The screen seems completely intact, but it refuses to turn on.
So, I feel like I already know the answer, but my question is this: Is it possible to fix a "dead" lcd monitor, or is a new one necessary?
