I sent in my Xbox 360 to get it repaired and they sent in a new one. I also had to make a new XBL account for whatever reason. All my purchases are tied to my old account which has no XBL. How do I transfer them to my new profile?

They show up in my new one but only as trials..hitting downloads or unlock asks me to purchase.

All purchases are tied to your account. You can't transfer them.

You need to transfer your licenses to your new Xbox through the Microsoft website, then redownload all the DLC you want onto that Xbox using the account you bought it on, and then you can play them on different accounts as long as you play on that one box.

Microsoft's DRM sucks.

this is the only way. for dlc, my brother buys and licenses on my xbox, then redownloads them onto his. works out swell, you just have to take the time to do it.

Uhh I can't reactivate my Gamertag. Something happened when I brought my Xbox in somehow and it doesn't work. I got credited a few months of Gold and had to make a new one. So you're telling me I have to fucking buy Battlefield 1943 again? That's some huge bullshit.

Basically my original account is locked to Silver status, my new one is Gold. None of my old games are able to be played on my new account. All my old games are playable when I switch to my old one except for BF1943 because, obviously, it requires Gold for online play and that account CAN'T be reactivated for Gold. All attempts have failed for whatever damned reason and M$ said they can't do shit. I'm wondering if there's any other alternative so I don't have to sit on the phone with them for 2 hours pleading my case when I have my damn receipts and validly purchased the items...

If you can log in, there shouldn't be any reason you can't be promoted to Gold status. Have you tried using a points card to actually force it?

If you really can't get anything working, you have a really big complaint on your hands. I'd suggest giving Xbox a few calls and getting promoted to supervisor, then posting about it on their forums specifically pointing out that this would not be the case if it wasn't for their shit DRM.

If they say that all you need to do is migrate your license and play on the other account, do not accept that as a solution. That means that although you can play it on THAT Xbox, you won't be able to download it on another Xbox and play it. This is especially bad if you have multiple consoles or your new Xbox breaks again.
