So, The Escapist is having a competition to see what game dev studio is the best/most popular. It has come down to Blizzard vs BioWare and (somehow) Valve vs. Zynga. For those who don't know, Zynga is that shitty game studio that made Farmville. I have no idea how it beat SquareEnix and RockStar, but it did. And now it's very close to Valve in the vote. If Zynga beats Valve, I will have lost all faith in humanity, so please go vote :saddowns:

There's a certain irony in people who own most, if not all, of Valve's games hoping to be rewarded with a Valve game sale on Steam.

And Valve gets to look like the good guy for enticing fans into dropping an extra few bucks on an extra copy of a game they already own. Or, if they manage to resist that temptation, they will at the very least have the uncontrollable urge to shout from the nearest mountain top -- to everyone that clearly doesn't care as much as they do -- that a sale is going on. I'm on to you, Valve!

I don't agree. I think the Half-Life universe absorbs the player into the story a hell of a lot better, and leaves one wanting more every time. By contrast, Mass Effect is like Star Wars. It's a cool story, but everything is laid out for you, leaving nothing to the player's imagination and it doesn't really keep one guessing. Since it's also third-person, it feels like watching a movie...which was BioWare's intent.

But this is just my opinion. Some people don't like VALVe's cryptic methods.

Valves done more.

Without valve:

No steam.

No Half Life.

No CSS.

No Portal.

No Gmod.

No TF2.

Modding wouldn't be as demanded.

And without some of those, you can expect alot of other shit would never have happened, or happened the way it did in the gaming world.

Bioware made a bunch of games that all just rehashes of existing IPs. They're games quite literally are all Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars, with new paint. Shit they even did a star wars game.

I also bought and played Mass effect 2. It was kay, but the gameplay itself sucked balls. Wasn't exactly wow'd. Felt like I'd seen it all before, and I didn't care about the characters.

I also hated that Tali bitch, before I knew she was an internet pornstar. Glad she was the only one who died at the end.
