I can't believe I'm turning 18 on the 13th of this month! Anyways, I know for sure I'm getting a tattoo but so far this is the one that defines me the most.

I kind of like the eagle one the most. Anyways I picked these because fishing will be always something that I will enjoy and do for the rest of my life. I also developed quite some luck and skill as a youngster. The design of these creatures also remind me of Alaska which also works out quite well. Which one do you guys like the most the eagle with the salmon or just the salmon?

I depends where it is on your body. The eagle looks like it would be pretty big and you might regret it later on. It might look kinda dumb by itself, so I wouldn't consider it if you aren't planning on getting more tattoos in the future.

I agree. The circular tattoo is a lot classier, and it looks unified by itself because of it. If you got the eagle tattoo just by itself, it wouldn't look complete.

Watch your skin sag when your in your 40's, 50's, 60's .etc. Wonder how cool it looks then.

Regrets. As a kid.

Before some shit turns up, I am just saying, its your choice lol if your happy its all good.

I'd personally never get a permanent marking on my skin, not only would I eventually come to dislike it, but it would exclude me from a lot of the fields I hope to work in...

As for the two Tattoo's you posted, I'm in agreement with the rest. Unless you had more body art in that Native American fashion the eagle would look out of place, the bottom salmon one is better as a stand-alone.

The last one, provided that a work shirt would cover it. Simple tattoos I don't mind, it's just the complicated colourful ones that are retarded (turn out green in 20 years).

I dislike both of them.

But that's just me.

the fish would look good as an 'arm badge' and would probably be a more practical first tattoo.

the only way the eagle works is to get it lolheug on your back or chest.

i personally don't have any tattoos, save a brand that is now just a light scar. I just haven't found anything i love as much as the cash in my wallet. *sigh* bills...

neither of them is classy. if you're going to get one of them no matter what though, get the above, and have the size scaled down. also, the calf and shin do not sag as much as other parts of the body later in life. at least not in my family LOL.

I'd use the first one, centered near the top of your back, with the wings scaled out to reach near your shoulders. Then I'd incorporate a totem-pole running down your spine. I'm guessing it'd hurt like a bitch, but It'd also look pretty cool.

If you insist on getting a tattoo, get the second one.

You may be able to get away with the first one if you went to art school, you should see the garish stuff people have on them here at SCAD lol.

Unless you can really justify a tattoo, I wouldn't bother. Seems very spur-of-the-moment to get one as soon as you turn 18.

If you must, the second one. Just make sure it's really small and easy to hide from employers.

I dislike both of them.

But that's just me.

I figured the eagle would be too large, that's why I might stay with the salmon. It wasn't going to be anything large or noticable unless it's pointed out.

You have room to talk.

You have room to talk.Disregard about half the posts here, you probably shouldn't be taking advice on which tattoo is better from a couple of animefreaks with bad grammar and people who actually wear super mario shirts in public...or hats that say llama juice on them for that matter.

^ who are you gonna take advice from then, smarty pants?

seriously though, tattoos = no. i would never get one, and i really think you should wait it out and really see if its what you want.

If you want to get a tat, make it something that actually has serious meaning to you. Don't go out on your 18th to get a tat just because you can now and you think the salmon/eagle look cool.

I thought I already pointed out on why I'm getting a salmon tattoo with that specific design and meaning.

The sagging skin with age argument against tattoos is flawed. Sagging skin looks bad regardless of tattoos.

Agreed. The human body isn't perfect, so I don't see why people hold it with such reverence. Nothing wrong with a little body art. Even if you grow to hate the tattoo, you've got a guaranteed story behind it, and memories back to the heyday of your youth.

Then don't get the tat on your stomach, chest, thigh, or ballsack.
