Camera Reconmendations

I'm looking for a camera mostly so I an take pictures of sport events. Can any of you guys suggest something that has high shutter speed, at least 5 mega pixel and high resolution? It would be nice if it could record pictures too. Maybe in the range of 200-400. Much appriciated.

You could get a Sony Alpha A230 with lens (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/622214-REG/Sony_DSLRA230L_Alpha_A230_Digital_SLR.html) for 400, but you're probably going to need a lot more reach that the kit lens offers :ugh:

Sports, huh? You're not gunna be able to get yourself a camera and telephoto lens for $400. There's several bodies from various manufacturers with 18-55 lenses, but those really aren't sufficient for sports.

My recommendation: Save more, get one of the recent Canon Rebel series cameras and either a 75-300 or a 55-200 or look into cheaper Sigma or Tamron options for lenses.

m4/3 or EVIL (Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens) cameras are expensive as hell and pretty useless to be honest. If they were to make an m4/3 rangefinder on the other hand...

Get a D40, I got mine for $300 and it rocks, however... I've still yet to master the action photo... mine are always shitty.
