I need to access my XP desktop folder from my windows 7 install, and it appears I can't do that without taking ownership of the folder completely, which fucks up XP when I boot back into it, forcing me to go into safe mode and retake ownership of my desktop in XP, thereby disabling access to my XP desktop from 7.
What the fuck am I supposed to do about this?

They're still called Workgroups, You're probably confusing the term with HomeGroups which is something almost entirely different.

Here's a tip: This isn't a network type of thing, this is a two-OSes-on-one-machine type of thing.
Also I already did that a while ago for shits and for fuck's sakes. No dice.

THIS. I was modding my win7 to look like this (http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/9901/desktopzf.jpg) and there was so much fucking hassle with ownership trying to get there.
Luckily, i got some simple file, that literally ads a reg key, so every single right click menu on a file/folder, has a "take ownership" link on it.

Send me that! I'm also trying to install that same theme but Win7 keeps preventing me from doing so.

Pm me your aim, and ill send you my modified files.
Youll need rainmeter and Omni something installed, but you'll have to make icons for the programs you need etc.
Was a fair bit of a pin in the ass to edit the "programs" panel to have more than 8. Some invisible system file I had to edit.

What I'm trying to do is have ownership be shared between my accounts on both partitions, not take ownership. I can do that, but it fucks up everything on my XP install.

Why would you ever go back to XP from 7

I'm keeping it around until I get everything migrated. I've got a lot of shit on there and I'd like to access it from my 7 install without ruining my XP install in case I need to go back into it.

I don't actually use AIM. Just PM the files uploaded to mediafire or something.
