meh, the government only seems to care about stuff that happens on that end of the country, bc is safe enough.

also doesn't such a policy have to be voted on, or is my understanding of our government's inner workings more tenuous than I though?

The problem is that for the most part -- MPs vote on the party lines... so you really need the Liberal, NDP, and Bloq to strike it down. The majority of the people we elect's job consists of slapping on a desk and yelling "here here". (Yeah I'm being facetious here -- but you understand my point)

Of course if we get an early election -- all bills will be killed so this could go tits up in one of three ways:

1) Issue gets edited before it becomes a bill
2) House strikes down the bill
3) Election is called before it's pushed through parliament.

Obviously there's other ways to kill a bill -- but those three are the most likely.

No, Uma Thurman doesn't work in Canadian Politics.

The PPC was already given official recognition by the Canadian government as a valid party, I'm voting for them next time we vote. Just because I can.

You know... if the Three Strikes rule gets enacted -- we should get 3 artists to accuse the CRIA and their member executives of Copyright Infringement.

Get them kicked off the internet. No need for a judge.

I'm pretty sure they do, that's why there was a little radio report about them locally.
