... in spirit :v:
i have spent the past few days working on a white robe.
pictures spoilered due to general massiveness.
front of the robe. note the general expression of displeasure. this is because the camera would not cooperate, and the flash is very bright.http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s277/TheKillerDonut/sewing/P1040230.jpg
back of the robe. note the lovely red sash, whose creation is terribly documented here in this painfully long youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hL84qlMGasA

i just recently came back from a 10 day trip to italy where it was lolhot every day. i had packed a majority of darkly colored tshirts and i was somewhat worried about getting a sunburn, so i thought about how a white robe might work to reflect some of the heat and sunlight. about 3 seconds after this thought i realized i was in italy and it would be funny if i had an assassins creed styled robe. so when i got back i bought about 4 yards of this white fabric called "super flannel" from walmart. after that i studied the seams on one of those disposable plastic rain ponchos to get an idea of how i should cut the fabric so it could be sewed correctly. after finally getting the cuts right, i put a collective total of around 14 or 15 hours into sewing all of the cuts together. by hand. because i dont like the sewing machine here. i sat down at 8 pm one night, started sewing, and literally did not sleep at all or move from that spot until 10:30 the next morning when i finished.
im thinking about adding buttons to the front so the drawstrings on the hood arnt the only thing holding the robe closed on my body.
tl;dr, i made an assassins creed styled robe. i thought you guys might like it, and i wanted to see if anyone else here was into this sort of thing. what do you think? :iamafag:
if anyone else has made anything fabric related, post it here
E: i had absolutely no idea where to put this thread. at first i thought studio because its technically art, but then this isnt really a sewing forum, so i just dropped the thread in here.
E2: and yes, i was totally playing Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time on my laptop :-3
