1) I installed the dedicated server to the same folder as the "client" game (didn't care to have dup map files laying around)
2) I've updated to LIVE 3.3, still get this error
3) No dedi services are running.

Now before I go and uninstall the damn thing then reinstall it to see if it works, am I missing something? Or did I do a no-no installing the dedicated server into the same path as the game itself? Or can G4WL suck my dick? What happened to the simple days when games just used Gamespy which didn't add all this extra fucking overhead eh :ugh:

Suck dick. I get the error message when I try to start H2V...there is a 'fix' but it does not work for everyone.

Now you can start bitching about G4WL.

If all else fails, do what I did, stroke thyself while you reinstall Win7 (maybe on a partition) and try again.

It's just H2V, most of the time.

H2V and Shadowrun are affected by this.
I'm not sure why, but I think it has to do with activate.exe (these games only have this).
Or they were just software blocked to run on Windows Vista, and something maybe conflicting.

Do report back Kornman00, on anything which may have fixed your problem.

It could have somethign to do with the catroot folder (or the cryptographic service I forget, but someone mentioned about it)

removed cat and oem crap and the game is working currently, thanks for the post links and youtube videos

on a side note: wasn't there a hacked (or rather proxy) xlive.dll released which removed memory checks and rebasing, etc?

Mem scan was patched with simple retn.This. Bypass live integrity checks (http://memoryhacking.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=52286&sid=c515fba948695b175efb7d1f0ee054d8#p52286).
(http://memoryhacking.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=52286&sid=c515fba948695b175efb7d1f0ee054d8#p52286)This tells you the code to patch over.

Also, I'm sure GTA IV gets xlive.dll patched to work online too. :?

It's funny to me how people are so dedicated to a game that they make fixes for what the original programmers did wrong.

XLive isn't a game. It's a framework.

Bypassing isn't "fixing" either. It's just bypassing.

Is there something Kornman00 and H2V want to share with the rest of us? (since no one asked)

I'm not announcing/talking about anything until they're ready. I'm not putting up with the whiny little ungratefuls in this community. They can't miss shit they never had or knew about to begin with.

There was nothing wrong with the xlive originally.

Except for using it, causing a lot of trouble for many ppl from the start... Gamespy is still up, think i saw it down once... once in about 6 years and still running :P

Love how most of Korn's posts have 'fuck' in it, it's like this is GTA 4 or something.
