Alcohol is pure sugar. I could technically have a beer I would just have to do one of the following:
1. Endure high blood sugar which basically makes you act like those dudes with waaay too much testoterone.
2. Take a shitload of insulin. The problem is that you have to time the insulin correctly or you will have a massive high then a massive low, which feels horrible.

Well calories dont matter, its the carbs that raise your blood sugar. Also depending on what stage of diabetes you're in you might not wake up shaking you might wake up extremely high in blood sugar so you'll just be in a piss poor mood until you take some insulin.

Well the calories come from the carbohydrates. If you look at how most liquor is made (corn, wheat mash etc etc) it's all like liquid bread. You're also totally right about where you're at. I assume you're type 1, as you're not old enough to have totally fucked your pancreas.

Yes, I got diagnosed last year on my birthday in the ER after having kidney failure and extreme dehydration. Luckily the recovery time was only 4 days, most people stay in for about twice as long but I am too active to be cooped up.

It does screw with your insulin and apparently your rate of metabolization though... so yes to a diabetic it might as well be sugar.
