Vindictus MMO (Early Access Beta)

Sup guys,

Not sure if you've seen it, but there's a new MMO coming out called Vindictus. Because I am not even really sure what it is, other than it being a Celtic Demon-slashing bloodbath, I will give you some quotes from the Wiki page and a link to the website for your consumption.

The people are fighting against fomors, various types of monsters, for what seems endless centuries desperately waiting for their black winged goddess, Morrighan, to take them to Erinn, a place without pain and illness. They try to survive and entirely eradicate the fomors while praying that Morrighan will finally come and save them. Note: Mabinogi Fantasy Life takes place after Mabinogi Heroes/Vindictus, already starting in Erinn.

Vindictus will be using the Source engine to allow players to interact extensively with the environment. Environmental objects can be destroyed or picked up and wielded as weapons. Combat is described as "kind of brutal, like a bullfight, or Monster Hunter" and will require a lot of teamwork.

Vindictus follows Nexon's traditional free-to-play model. The game itself will be free to download and play and charged no purchase price. The game will contain some type of virtual item shop to purchase in-game items to enhance the player's character's appearance and abilities.

The open beta doesn't begin until October. There is a private beta going on starting today, as a matter of fact.

I HAVE TWO BETA KEYS TO GIVE OUT. This is on a first come, first serve basis. If you want a key to the beta, send me a PM and I'll send the key out.

Played it all last night, it's really a nice game. And this is coming from a gamer that really, REALLY dislikes RPGs. The graphics are great. The character customizing, while limited, is still pretty cool (it's gender locked, and the girl character didn't interest me, I'm playing as a guy, HOO HAH!), and the environment is all awesome.

Like, you go into battle. Sure, you use swords, but then you notice a piece of pottery on the ground. Pick it up, run up to monster, SMASH IT OVER HIS HEAD YEAH!!! Pick up dead monster, run to the next enemy, THROW IT AT HIS FRIENDS YEAHHHHHHHHHH!!!

When the game is released I plan on making a new character with the female magician, Evy. Battle scyth, oh yes.

Also, I still have one key left! :)

Nexon America. Each respective Nexon will probably release a localized version later on, and iirc if you don't have a localized version you can play the American one. That's how Maple worked anyways.

First of all we whooped this guy's ass:

Then my party was up against the Gnoll Chieftain.... he's very large, very scary, and can incapacitate a team member in one swing. My entire team was down, except for me, and I had to keep fighting this monster without them (we didn't have any revival feathers, which sucks).

I kicked his ass.

No, literally.

I really dislike that they didn't create classes as opposed to characters tied to a specific gender. I would really like to pick a class and build a persona around it close to my own. Can't really do that with a female character. Hoping gender selection comes in the future.

The uploader of the video just added the end-of-mission track to the end of it. You can still hear the battle music playing sort of subdued in the background.

Yeah, I hit the level cap sometime last week, I'm done with all the story quests that are possible so far (waiting on the Studded Leather set, need Fine Tannin which is only available if you're a cheating bastard.... same with the Savage Leather armor set). Right now all I've been working on is BP and AP farming while the token system is still set to automatic refill :P

Also, I am so freaking rich right now lol. I love farming for really expensive items. <3

Will be sending my monies and such over to my Evie char when she is available.
