It's everyone's favorite level. Next release is the last release, and will include updated versions of all the previous maps; as such, it may take an extra week, but it should be worth it.

ADDITIONS/CHANGES IN THIS RELEASE

Weapons
-New pickup icons have been added, along with unique ones for weapons without new models (a letter will denote its function, e.g. Plasma Rifle + B for Plasma Beam).
-The Plasma Burst has been further nerfed; it's rate of fire has been slightly decreased.
-The Plasma Spread no longer has a zoom function and its rate of fire has been increased, with its heat output and power reduced to compensate.
-The Battle Rifle's rate of fire has been increased.
-Assault Rifle ammo pickups now award three extra clips, and SMG pickups give you two.
-The Pistol has new animations.
-The Assault Rifle & Battle Rifle now use the reload-empty (clip depleted) animation exclusively. Halo will use the same reload time regardless of true animation length, and my animator refuses to lengthen the reload-full animations, so this is the best way I have of making do.

Units
-Marines have had their health and damage resistance increased even more.
-Jackal shields are slightly more resistant to Plasma weapons.
-Precision weapons now do more damage to Hunters.
-Elite and Spartan shields will now increase in brightness as they come closer to popping.

Particle Effects
-The Fuel Rod Gun has a new particle effect.
-Elite shield depletion effect has been cut down to be far more clean and conservative; it was way, way too overdone for such a simple and frequent occurance.
-Free-floating plasma residue (e.g. from the Plasma Grenade) now has gravity, giving it a more substantial impression.
-Various other tweaks and optimizations.

Things I already know about:

-The SMG's sound will cut out and occasionally do weird things. This is just the way Halo CE handles looping sounds; there's nothing I can really do about it.
-The Plasma Burst, Plasma Beam, Plasma Spread, and Eviscerator do not have unique models. I can't model to save my life, so I'm stuck recoloring existing models. If you or somebody you know is willing to model, skin, rig, and/or animate new weapons from scratch, please let me know.
-The Battle Rifle's animations are placeholder. I'll be using teh lag's set as soon as he's done with them, so bear with me for now; anything nasty can be attributed to that.
-The needles in the Needler don't pop back up until after the reload animation is entirely completed. This is due to the extra plasma shader I've layered on; I can't do anything about but others can; it'll be fixed for b40.

The next release will be the last one. It'll contain all 5 maps in the mod (a10-b40), each with all the improvements and custom content added over the past two months of production. Since I'll have to make sure every single map works, rather than just a single one, I might take three weeks (rather than two) to get it out, but I'll do so under the goal of leaving absolutely nothing less than perfect.

Woot, just in time. I have a request, after you're done with the next level (since it's the last one), why won't you edit the previous ones to have the content on the new ones? I feel like I'm using a different mod after every level.

Silly me. Oh, and WHY NO CUSTOM ANIMZZ 4 ROCKET LAWNCHAIR?? And please, frag particle effects would be REALLY nice, new textures for vehicles, and new fire effects.

Played it, liked it.
But why are the Hunters so damn hard to kill? It seems that the only 2 things that can kill them are the pistol and the spanker...


And please, frag particle effects would be REALLY nice,+1 on the idea, that's the only thing that doesn't look as nice as everything else does!

So I've been promising myself I'd play these since A10 but it never happened :p
A few of the weapons seem really pointless (red PR for the jackals coming to mind) and I didn't see the eviscrator till right at the end (would have liked to have used it but whatever). The pistol seems too nerfed and doesn't seem like it'd ever be a better choice to anything for the 5 minutes I used it. Also the hunters seemed to get confused in the fight before deactivating the security. They'd stand in certain spots and do nothing or just try to walk and end up staying in the spot playing a borked shuffling animation.

THAT SAID
I had a blast playing this. It all felt so fresh and interesting, old weapons becoming new again. I love what you did with the AR and while the PR isn't the one I grew to love, it's still a sweet gun. Also, you can really see the polish on the particles (I cum buckets every time I throw a sticky :aaaaa:).

No specific criticism, just saying what the mod did/n't for me. I really really liked it overall. Are you just going to be re-releasing all the maps up to B30 with this or will you be doing the later levels too?

Found a bug with the BR: Whenever I get ammo out of a dropped one, it plays the AR sounds, but whenever I get ammo by a pickup, it plays the actual BR sounds. AND I KNOW I'M GOD DAMN LATE.

Ur just missing out on the new updated blood decals and bullet holes.

That said...

I am missing out on it too!!! Blasted nVidia decal (un)support!!! Gaaah :maddowns:

EDIT: Well setting 30fps made the fps, well, stay 30fps instead of dropping for every decal, but 30fps... just... doesn't feel like the usual 75 fps. Time for a new GPU :saddowns:
